Output impedance of Shishido LCR Phono

This is the freq answer of Shishido riaa with EQ2L Tango and CCA ( or E88CC) Telefunken made by me time ago
The gain, with selected tubes is around 38 dB
Was a test for a final project with different topology

The anode current is 17 mA, almost the limit of ECC88 and 1,3 watt for each plate
Although running hot, I would not say they run almost at their limit.

According to the datasheets for the 6DJ8/ECC88 the maximum cathode current of one section is 25 mA and the maximum dissipation per plate is 1.8 Watt.

In the Shishido preamp the voltage between cathode and plate of the triode sections is 85 V, so the dissipation per plate is P = I x V = 0.017 x 85 = 1.45 Watt.

When building this preamp, it is important to use the triode section with pins 1, 2 and 3 in the upper position because that section can stand 130 Vdc (150 Vpeak) between cathode and heater (against 50 V for the other triode section). The heater supply is lifted to 50 Vdc so the upper triode sections see 115 Vdc between their cathodes and heaters

The HT ss stabilized, two channel
the diagram is one channel

I can't tell you the sonic differences with Shishido, are two differente topology.
This one has a very good sound, as the listener told me.
On test lab bith have a good performances.

About the prices I will send a message

Walter

I can't say how much is better than Shishido.
It is more flexible as first point and not complicated to build.
My LCR is not cheaper as final stuff or pcb+parts. The box you see costs 200eu + 120 eu of holes and letters written on front and back panel , they are carved not paint
In every case the Tango EQ-2L or EQ 600P are difficult to find and are very expensive.
The Sowter coils are at the same level ( in attach the test of both)
First of all my Lcr is much more flexible because you can change with a little modification the gain tube , standard is ECC81 but you can use 5965,7062,12BZ7,ECC83 with a little mod.
Also, fixed the gain tube, you have the possibility to change the partial gain or total gain of the stage (3dB or 6dB lower) only moving a jumper.
The gain with 81 is around 41/42 dB full gain; is possible ot reach the 46 dB with 82
Also with little mod you can use as CF, the 6N6 or 6H30; but also 12BH7 or ECC82
the people ( with a very good analog source) that have listened the phono were very impressed also for the very low noise
