I'd like to barter Vacation time for consultation on amplifier and speaker designs

So I'd have to spend my free Hawaii vacation hanging out with you and brainstorming ideas for amps and speakers? Fair dinkums!

Just thought I'd ask. But before we dismiss this as an unreasonable proposal, let's look at the numbers.

Hawaii, Bahamas, Mexico or anywhere popular runs at minimum $400 per night per room for a nice resort. So a three Br unit values $1,200 per night. For 13 nights (Two week stay) it could run $15,600 for accommodations. That is not to put forth an offer, but to establish the reach in terms of value of what is being discussed. In addition, multiple vacations could be booked if more value is needed.

As to what is being asked, firstly to view amp designs and give opinion as to which ones (if any) meet a preestablished standard. Additionally, (if no satisfactory models are found), You may be asked to suggest improvements on the best of what is available.

I thought that this would be a decent offer because I am willing to give more than I receive. I am also willing to have the person take the vacation before the work is completed, but that would be for a person that I can verify through this forum or otherwise.

The presumption is that the person will be an expert in this narrow area, but you have no way
to verify the quality of the advice. And even genuine, widely acknowledged experts in the field
can, and will, have differing opinions.

Is this for commercial purposes? If not, just post questions here. If it is, you should indeed pay
for the consultation. But without having the same level of expertise yourself, how will you then use
the information effectively? As they say, the devil is in the details.

I've read contributions here that indicate that there are qualified individuals that could have done the job. I've come to understand that not much high level engineering goes into car amplifiers, so it is not that tall a task.

It could eventually become commercial that is why I thought I'd take this approach, but based on the responses it may be best if this thread is closed.

Of course you're right, it would have been a challenge for me to verify the information received but, in terms of qualifications, I intended to review the respondent's posts here and their responses to gage competence, along with any credentials they would have submitted. The end product would have been put through rigorous testing before selection so the exercise would have been more like a prescreening.

It is an interesting post and idea👍Just sad that ideas that are very new or uncommon gets negative reactions. The same is everywhere. Would it be interesting amp circuit or unusual speaker arrangement or whatever else. but isn’t great things created by the persons who think out of the box?..

Why not talk to Zenon in Korea about what you want? A very common manufacturing path for car audio is to talk to a build house about what you want and see what they can do.
Good idea, I'll check out the possibility of purchasing direct from Korea. A Korean manufacturer told me a long time ago that their prices in the U.S. are higher because there is an inherent warranty that is not expected in other markets. The only issue is that those guys operate on such a large scale it would probably not be worth their while.

Why thanks, but I understand the naysayers, because 9 times out of 10 offers like this are made by people looking to get over on someone. It may have been wiser to send PM's to a few people 🙂
