Not here in Argentina where everybody will recognize it at once.

One of our most popular and loved cartoon characters (compare it to US "Peanuts") is Matías, an 8 y.o. kid who lives with his divorced pennyless young Mother in a minuscule appartment, "no space or money for dogs" ....... so he made his own out of a plastic bottle and a piece of string.
By the way, she´s called "Catalina", go figure.
