Hi there,
I know this IcePower amplifier has an in built power supply.
Apparently it requires AC power. Does this mean I need an AC/AC power adaptor?
Basically what goes between the IEC socket I will put on my amplifier casing and the amplifier module?
Thanks!
Peter

No adapter needed for the 125ASX2. IEC socket direct to the board, unless you want to put a power switch between them. Be aware that there is a 120/240V jumper on the board that has to be set correctly -- mine was not.Hi there,

But is yours the 125ASX2, or something older?
Yes its a current 125ASX2.
Thats great.
Is there some kind of electronic setting for the 230V jumper? Or is it just a case of plugging in to the correct jumper?

I have the 50ASX2, so the jumper setting is slightly different, but I believe for the 125ASX2 the setting is even more obvious: connect the jumper at P200 (mid left side) for 120V or P201 (top left) for 230V.
That's a nice little amp module. I've built 3 different amps using this model and a couple more powerful ones. Just good amps to use for a DIY build. A personal note... IIRC, icepower amp modules were used with the Bose branded sound system in my new Nissan Maxima way back in 1988. They were actually powered speakers, with an amp attached to each speaker assembly. I found the sound very nice indeed. The best sound in any car I had previously owned before. I loved the car too. Lot's of good road trips memories in it.
Good luck with your build.
