Some speaker driver measurements...

Nice to see a Lavoce driver tested. The 6.5" MAN061.80 is another nice driver from lavoce with high sensitivity and near satori levels of midrange distortion.

The 3" lavoce FAN030.71 is very good at low to moderate SPL, but it's short voice coil causes distortion to rise at higher volumes. Not unusual for 3" drivers it seems, with the 10F being the exception.
The TC9FD is also an excellent performer in that regard (and most others).

You say that this driver has "Satori like levels of midrange distortion". What's the basis for that? Do you have measurements or links to them that you could share?

The 3inch LaVoce doesn't seem to have an air vent on the back (through the magnet structure).
I am almost wondering if that also doesn't contribute as well?

how about an old range rover?
They're relatively easy to work on and parts are available and fairly cheap. I have a mate with an old one, maybe late 70s and he's a hard 4WDer and beats the snot out of his most weekends on hard trails. He also has an ancient Land Rover but that has issues with dogs. Owners walking theirs keep hitting the rear of it as it can't move fast enough to get out of their way.

I see the faceplate is removable for attaching a waveguide, but Bliesma says to specify this when ordering. Do you know what is different when you specify waveguide use?
Absolutely nothing, excepting a bit labor-intensive technology of assembling. In series models the front part is a little glued to the surround, so, there is a risk of misalignment.
