Biamp question

I built Martin Kings 2 way OB using a passive xover. In it I am using the SAL full range driver
crossed over at 500hz but have to pad it 4 db. While it sounds marvelous being driven by
my F5 clone I am wondering if it would sound even better eliminating those padding resistors
and biamping using a 10 W single ended SIT amp just for 500hz and up.

That's precisely the benefit of biamping. You do not need to worry about different efficiencies, just a simple volume adjustment for each section. Other benefit is lower distortion, as no matter what happens in low fr section, the harmonics are not going to pollute your upper section with fullrange. Plus, you do not need to use very powerful amp for upper section. Lots of benefits.
