Recently installed an amp into my car and the second I plugged in the 12v wire from the battery to the amp it decided to go up in smoke. Took some pictures of the damage, I was wondering if anyone here would happen to know why it happened and what those blown components are and what they do?
Hello there,
May I suggest you throw the manufacturers words back at them; "Protection against overload, short circuit, thermal, low voltage, high voltage, and reverse polarity." https://www.soundstage-audio.com/pr...ompetition-series-1000w-mono-block-amplifier/
That covers everything that could possibly be done to destroy it.
Cheers
The diodes could very well be these: AliExpress £0.23 each including post if you buy 10.

Thank you so much for your reply, I’m going to take the amp back to the store today and try to exchange it for a new one.Hello there,
