RIAA or Not

Hi there, I heard in some italian audiophile circles that some european labels are cutting their masters with curves other than the RIAA standard, I'm not talking ancient records but modern production. Hence, they say, preamps without various de emphasis eq, other than the RIAA standard, are useless. I don't believe this for a second, moreover that this fact is not clearly adviced in the product they are selling. What do You think?

'word of mouth' is what you have experienced
Or perhaps it's the 'social'...
Or...some phono pre that needs to be promoted amongst the zombie circles errr..audiophiles.
Well... The A in RIAA is for America, sure we gotta oppose some force to the dominion, or is Artists? Surely the JPEG made enormous detriment to the visual world, and the Experts might have made some mistakes. I don't believe them, conspiracy's rising, Bluetooth is the New Age

I wonder if the genesis of this is confusion about the IEC Amendment. Specifically:
In 1976, an alternative version of the replay curve (but not the recording curve) was proposed by the International Electrotechnical Commission, differing from the RIAA replay curve only in the addition of a pole at 7950 μs (approximately 20 Hz).[13]
...
Some manufacturers follow the IEC standard, others do not, while the remainder make this IEC-RIAA option user selectable. It remains subject to debate some 35 years later.[2] This IEC Amendment was withdrawn in June 2009, though.

It's also possible that someone misinterpreted what a mastering engineer said when they talked about equalizing recordings so they can be cut and/or for better presentation after the non-linear colorations introduced by the entire cut-to-playback process.

I hear no difference in tonal balance, both sounds bit dark which goes well with my fullrange speakers.
But of course it is so. some claims mentioned in post #1 have zero serious evidence.
As for certain individuals that show an excess of keyboard aggresivity, perhaps a glass or two of a good Barolo -to soften their mood before they wrote- can be strongly advisable.

I repeat my consideration, please take the apporpriate info.
There is a lot to learn around eq curves and I am trying to do.
Also drinking Barolo ( and others) that helps a lot
