I don't know the model number. Thought you might have it handy. I will checkHave you searched hifiengine?
Plenty catalogs there.
The above link shows the Sony SS-CPX22 which, I hazard, is superior to Surtsey's Sony SS-CPX1 - if only in the tweeter department.
The former model certainly gets high praise in the link!

Sony is such a large corporation, with so many products there's got to be some gems.
Is this similar ?

the bookshelf speakers that come with the Sony SS-CPX1
The SS-CPX1 was the speaker model that was supplied with the Sony CMT-CPX1 compact audio system.
The service manual is available to download here: https://servlib.com/sony/audio/cmt-cpx1-ss-cpx1.html
I was able to reduce it but not rid the bold.Sorry about the large bold type - that's how it cut and pasted and I couldn't change it!
That's too much advanced technology for this old duffer - I'm still trying to get to grips with stereo! 😉more Sony- different
P.S. Thanks Cal!

I see mention made in 2017 of a "new Sony line" called the Reference Series.
However, the paucity of information on the interweb suggests that either the series never came to fruition or it was confined to the Japanese market.

Much as I love the Fisher, I gave it to my mom because it doesn't have enough juice to power the B&W's at the levels the family plays music. The Thorens also can be jumpy when somebody is walking in the room it is in. In here it is on top of a heavy dresser so it is fairly isolated. The Sony's were purchased after reading 4-2-7's post about them. He's right. They do put out sound that belie their humbler roots.![]()
Don't know how long they will say this way. I am always on the look out for something that may fit my tastes better. As of this time, the Sony fits the bill, so I am limiting my search to the brand. a 100wpc Sony power amp would finally settle me for a while, but who knows?
Thanks for bearing with me. Rock on!![]()

The 2017 Sony reference series are headphones and associated gear, Sony is not heavily invested in consumer audio like they used to be.
Product that is still made, quite true to the original Sony products with some minor improvements would be GT sound. The price is on level with other high end japanese drivers though.

And the pics is of the Sony SEM-5S (SUP T11 and SUP L11).
And the SUP T11 CD, that the gsu-d04 is based on.
