Looking at first DIY built. I want to use the DIYSG Helix TM kit in the small Denovo floor stander cabinet. Essentially, my thoughts are to cut a hole in the front baffle of the Denovo kit, and seal the Helix baffle to it (so it will be elevated off the front of the cabinet 3/4". I would obviously have to flush trim the Helix baffle (9.25" wide) to line up with the sides of the Denovo cabinet (8" wide). I would do whatever the biggest round over I could get away with and still blend with a round over on the rest of the front edge of the cabinet. My question is, would the Helix crossover need any kind of adjustments in order to do this, to make up for the shorter baffle width?

Any changes to the width or height of a baffle would require some changes to the crossover. However, could You hear any differences between the two? Probably not. Unless the designer has something different to say, I would say go ahead.
Thanks for the reply. I'm guessing if I'm running a room correction anyway, it would negate whatever issue the narrower baffle may cause?
Better overall IME to just add some more 3/4" thick pieces to make the whole baffle flush, ditto 5/8" panels on each side to preserve the XO's performance and as much, or more importance, increased rigidity via mass loading.
Correction is a strong word.
In any case, the baffle step can mostly be compensated from either perspective so yes, you should be able to largely address the difference using this method.
