My objection was to members who hate the new software right out of the box without even trying the controls and settings. It's like asking "How do you like your new car radio?" and getting the reply "It sucks! It only has AM band and the volume is low." when the user hasn't yet pushed any buttons or turned any knobs.
The problem with those radios and most software is trying to get to the appropriate menu from some single button interface. What you want is buried and not always obvious where it is, especially while driving. When software (especially powerful stuff like CAD packages) gets that way and I can’t get to the basic functions in half an hour of playing with it I go get something else to get the job done.

The only “objection” I’ve found so far is the text selection on my Ipad doesn’t work with this anymore. Will select one word, or select all, but nothing in between. Make trimming quotes a pain in the ****. Fastest method I’ve found so far is hitting the backside key however many times. There is probably some setting on the DEVICE that will fix that, but I’ll find it in about a month.

Have you tired the Classic theme and expanded the main column to full width? It's not exactly the same as the old look, but about as close as you can get.
Thanks for the suggestion. I have done that and I definitely prefer it. But the software forgets it next time I come to the site, it reverts back to the "Light" theme. How do I get Class to be permanent, even when I'm not logged in?

@wg_ski Interesting, I'll try that text select on the iPhone, I don't have an iPad.

The radio analogy is accurate, I bought a new Pioneer for our old car. Sounded terrific but had one of the worst user interfaces I have ever seen. Basically it was unusable while driving. After three months of trying hard to use it, I finally took it out and put back the OEM radio/CD/Cassette. So much easier to use! We certainly hope the forum isn't that bad.

Congrats on the new website!! Looks great and functions really well!

Love the For Sale/Wanted pull down option in the swap meet when posting.

Any chance we could also add a country pull down option? Or even an OP country flag in the message title?

It would be more efficient to know the OP's country when viewing the swap meet home page and not wasting time opening the post if the item(s) would be prohibitively expensive to ship (e.g. four 21" subwoofers from Japan to Canada 🙂).

This colored squared only complicate the work of the eye.

Allen suggestted that the reason that your icon is not transparent as it needed to be resized from the size i attached. Try this one. It is 48x48 pixels, same size as avatar used in the left hand column.

It was really annoying to look at the list of New Posts and not see the name of the Forum in which a message was placed.
It is under the (overlarge) thread title. The front oage is a disaster and making it ook much more like the old is very much on the agenda.

For those that donated (Enthusiast level for example), will the enhanced thread view functions return to allow viewing the entire thread on one page
Yes, that functionality was developed. Currently is has been done in a way that was practical. Top RHS, three dots, click, choose "print thread". It doesn't fare well on very long threads. We are planning to make a better one in the near future after some consultation with members like yourself about how you're using it and get it working even better than it was previously.

Thanks Jason. As it stands now, one has to print the whole thread and then edit out the unnecessary threads/text he does not need ( ie: thankyou replys/non-tech replys...etc ). Before, in the old system, one could save/print whatever threads they would like, and the quantity of threads they would like at any given time. One could walk away if needed, and then come back and resume from the placed left off.

Great job so far by the team, and I will wait until the team works on the better version.

I don't know if this has been reported yet. In the private conversation between members; when you get a response from another member there is a prompt available for a thank you in the bottom right of the screen. When clicked it goes to the crying laughing imoji. It could be construed as less than polite.
