Intra-thread searching does not seem to work with me. I chose "this thread" and get no results even for words I see on the same page.
I noticed that ads are now popping up on the top banner - as a financial supporter I thought ads were supposed to be off? Has this policy changed?
It works but I only see signature when I rotate view to landscape on a phone. A user’s signature is not visible until the phone is rotated physically 90deg. Also, we can’t see number of views in normal portrait mode on phone. A lot of info has been removed from standard portrait view.

No, you don't. I am one of the grumpy old men. And I rarely visit this site on mobile - although now that it actually works well on mobile that might change.
My objection was to members who hate the new software right out of the box without even trying the controls and settings. It's like asking "How do you like your new car radio?" and getting the reply "It sucks! It only has AM band and the volume is low." when the user hasn't yet pushed any buttons or turned any knobs.
What's been good to see is a consensus that the new layout isn't as information dense as the old one, and that visual priorities could be better. Those are issues that Jason wants to fix, so it's good to hear the feedback. And of course there are the various functional problems that need to be found and fixed. We did a massive amount of those in alpha and beta tests, but bugs always slip thru.
When you hover over a thread title you get a preview box, but if you use the 'load more' button, all threads below that point don't have a hover preview.
Policy has not changed as far as I'm aware. I'm not seeing ads but I can't find an option for them. Will have to ask on that.
Thanks. The link seems OK now. No idea whether the view on a smart phone is universal or whether you are seeing something unique (I haven't got one to try it). Again will have to ask.
I think the new outfit isn't as cearly laid-out as the old one when I click diyAudio/Home. And I sorely miss the e-mail notifications for new posting in threads that I'd posted in previously. Otherwise the new site is ok.

I also have ads (but in a bottom popup banner), despite being a supporter. I can only remove them by enabling an popup and ad blocker for this site. I'd prefer not to have to do that as the popup blocker can sometimes interfere with the proper functioning of a website.

Change is hard, I drive a 15year old Toyota even though I don’t have to, I like my even older couch. I liked the old software’s look and feel because it became familiar, I miss it. But thank goodness I’m not running this forum or it would not have a future! My thanks goes out to Jason for investing and looking forwards !
I just tried the new forum on a smartphone. It works well. My only problem is with the page numbers. If I want to go to a specific page, or just simply go to the prev/next, I have to fully scroll down. Even if I don't want to read the actual page from top to bottom. It would be useful to have the page selector on the top AND on the bottom, just like it is on the desktop mode.
Also the first and last page does not have the Go to page selector (obviously it does make sense at 4 or more pages).

It was really annoying to look at the list of New Posts and not see the name of the Forum in which a message was placed. There are TONS of threads with non-specific titles like "Preamp Question", so we check to see whether it was posted in the Tubes/Valves Forum or the Solid State Forum or the Introductions Forum, to decide whether it's possibly something worth pursuing further.
