Germanium investigations

Following Yurik's example, I assembled such an amplifier based on medium-power germanium transistors. Square wave 60 kHz.
I plan to use a switching power supply.

Yes, I already listen to music. Sounds pretty good. There is no background at all. Switching power supplies work fine. I used a lot of 12 V / 2 A Chinese stuff. I used a Toshiba amplifier box.

Final outline. You can remove all 10 ohm resistors, but I haven't tried that. Too lazy to remove them and put jumpers.

Enough power. When + -12.5 V was applied, I received an amplitude of 10 V at the amplifier output (load - 8 ohms).

Sinusoidal power 12.5 W.

P.S. After two hours of listening to the amplifier at medium power, the radiators are quite cold. (y)

How was Grundig rated among audiophiles?
In my humble opinion Grundig was good quality honesty mass production audio gear
but not on legendary, extraordinary audio level.
Rare folks use them actually with compression drivers, horns and woofers ~ 100dB or large 10",12", 15" FR.
Vintage Ge circuit was factorys builds with many economical compromises.. weak psu ,
unnecessairy complicated with many tone controls eq potentiometers and switches in the signal path etc.
Germanium amplifier(s) new design in pure class A by Mr. Pass that can be future game changer ;) Let's dream

Probably SV 40 is a half power version of SV 80 amp :)

Maybe it was good......but still......not Germanium :) .....but at least German.....
Yes old good days made in Germany electronics ,
music from big Grundig consoles are my first " Hi - Fi " childhood memory's.
Amazing fully integrated.. remember the mirror box inside with bottles and glasses for adults drinks haha
some was with tubes.. next generation consoles have use early Ge transistors but sadly replaced them with Si.
Oh man pure brute analog sound in the 50's to 70's was a hot stuff !

Hi Zoran, sorry for late reply. I have not been following this thread anymore.
To be honest, i was not so happy with the result and i got distracted with other projects, especially those based on power jfet lu1014d. Since there was gb on adapters, and i got some jfets from Mr. NP, and bought many from aliexpress.
I built f1j and f3 with lu1014d. Great stuff.
Since i got plenty, i guilt headphone amp too.
I know its not germanium, so i am not going to post it. Just saying that the sound was way ahead, so i am finishing lu1014d into box, plus i will work on perfect power supply for it. I scavenged my germanium headphone amp for parts.
If you have lu1014d, build headphone amp i posted in 'whats on your bench tonight' thread. You will like it.
Its one of the best headphone amps i have (and i have about dozen icluding few shiit, acp+, whammy...).
Hi Adason.I have some LU1014D and maybe I will put together some headphone amp. Thanks for the tip.

These music furniture's may have nice "WAF"?
Same principle as JBL Paragon? <-- do you think these would like a low wattage Ge-amp?
Yes possible but experience in real situation give you the truth answer
I guess some modern bipolar Si amplifiers topologys can be "translated" with minor modifications for Ge transistors use.
Old electronic magazines https://archive.org/details/electronicsmagazine?&sort=-week&page=2 are interesting
but modern books about audio amplification design bring updates
