my SE 10 watt sounds good to me but a friend said that I should be using a 125SE transformer. I think that maybe I should not mess around because I have already done a lot of resoldering things.
He is right in that you need an output transformer intended for single ended output circuits.
However the 125SE is not intended for "Hi-Fi" amplifiers because it does not go low enough in frequency.
You should use a transformer such as this series, but they will be more expensive.
