Tannoy 613 Internal Wiring

Have recently bought some old Tannoy 613s that have seen better times.. Checking them over and comparing I have noticed the wires dual concentric drivers have been re-attached differently for each speaker. I don't know which, if any, are correct! I have searched extensively online with no success of the internal wiring.
Could anyone please advise me, or guide me to a logical result using the crossover. I am not very experienced with electronics.
Thanks

I suspect that the brown and blue wires should be connected to the lower, woofer section as in your first photo - brown to right hand terminal.

The yellow and green wires should go to the upper, tweeter section - yellow to right hand terminal.

Try this - with the volume down low - and report back if the bass and the treble frequencies are coming from the correct sections of the dual concentric driver.

There's no doubt about the brown and blue to the woofer then.

Turn the little diagram of the driver in Krivium's attachment upside down (so brown is on the right) and you'll see that the tweeter colour coding is the opposite way round to what I suspected.

I would try the tweeter wiring both ways round and choose the way that sounds best to you.

Good thinking. I expect the confusion could have come from the fact that the polarity orientation of the binding posts isn't consitent. See labelled picture below:

Hi,
Please apologize for the laconic link, i was at work in a rush...

The picture is for a different loudspeaker's model from same serie (sixes), so there was chance the colour coding used to be the same. I would not have expected this to be true for another serie but in your case it was likely.

Anyway in case of doubt i usually proceed the same as Galu's described method.

I'm pleased to be of help!

How does the 613 sounds now they are wired the same? Have you done some modifications or just some cleaning?
To me they looks in good shape in the pictures you linked.

I've not heard those one and i'm curious, i've never been a fan of the passive radiator loudspeakers i've used in the past ( Mackie Hr824 first gen) as i've found them touchy about their location, but maybe it was this particular model? I don't know.

I recently seen a lot of second hand offer on Sixes around my place but didn't take the plunge...

Yes, the reversed orientation supports my original suspicion that brown is mid/bass positive and yellow is tweeter positive.

I hope the tweeter that was connected to the mid/bass wires has not been damaged.

I hope too the tweeter have not been damaged. If they are related to the same drivers i own (2046, system800) they should be relatively rugged though. At least this was Tannoy's claim in their advertising.

Anyway they probably sounded weird with poor stereo when miswired.

If damaged maybe some spares could be still found in UK?

They will benefit from ferrofluid clean and reinstal too ( tweeters), but don't ask me how to do, a friend of mine performed it for me and i wasn't present...
