Hi, newbie question: please could some one let us know where I could purchase a tweeter for a sonus faber cremona m speaker? Best to buy a matching pair? I assume it's not made by S F. ? Maker & Part manufacturer number (I don't have an old one to look at)Would be greatly appreciated ☺️.
Live in UK
Best Regards

Welcome!
I can't open your image. The best way is to attach it as explained here: How to attach images to your posts.

Is this the tweeter you are looking for?
It looks like a customised ScanSpeak dual ring radiator tweeter.

I presume you have the other speaker intact, Neil, so why not unscrew its tweeter to discover the part number?Maker & Part manufacturer number (I don't have an old one to look at) Would be greatly appreciated ☺️ .
(Or, please explain what is behind the statement that you "don't have an old one to look at"?)
Then you could contact Sonus Faber re availability.
It would be nice to let us know what has gone wrong with the tweeter. 😎
And if you get the exact replacement part, it should not be necessary to replace the pair of tweeters.

I haven't purchased the speakers yet and was wondering if I could repair them. Long drive so need to be reasonably sure it's worth it.
Thanks for that.Is this the tweeter you are looking for?

Patience when posting friend. We need to clear your posts before they show as you are a newbie here.
There may be other things wrong with the speakers and you may end up with a large repair bill. I wouldn't drive a long distance to inspect speakers that have been declared to be faulty.I haven't purchased the speakers yet and was wondering if I could repair them. You may have to rely on Sonus Faber for a replacement tweeter as this may be a customised model. Who knows what one might cost if it actually proves to be available?
Unless the speakers are being offered at a really cheap price, I suggest you wait till a working pair of this model, or a similar model, is available.

P.S. These speakers cost over £5,000 in 2009.
If you're talking thousands of pounds to purchase today then they would have to be in perfect working and cosmetic condition.

Neil - I read that you'd need to get custom replacements from Sonus Faber, and the only way to do that in the UK is via an Absolute Sounds dealer. Something like £200 per tweeter.
I'm just wondering if you've come to a decision about taking that long drive, Neil.
If you've already taken it, I'd be interested in the continuing story. 😎

Dealer wants £3600 so too expensive for the age and cosmetic tweeter damage? They say tweeter sounds fine, but doesn't look fine.

Thanks for that. I will investigate.

Haven't decided yet on taking the trip to hear these speakers yet. Overall opinion is they are too expensive for old speakers?

What are people thinking....too expensive?
In my opinion, second hand speakers are really only worth what people are prepared to pay for them.
As soon as speakers leave the showroom, their prices plummet.
If in perfect condition, I personally wouldn't consider paying more that 50% of the original retail price.
I wonder what draws you towards these particular speakers. Perhaps you have auditioned a pair of these models in the past?
I have seen the listing for these speakers, and the tweeter damage is as shown in my earlier post. I'm reattaching the image so that others may gauge the damage.

The faceplate is likely the only customized part of the tweeter. If I were buying these speakers, at a discount because that tweeter is damaged, I would buy two new tweeters (same motor and impedance) from Scanspeak and swap over the faceplates. Even a factory direct replacement won't be well matched to the other undamaged older tweeter.

Was thinking exactly the same thing🤔. Looks like I need to get the price down below 50% new price.
