A post to talk about those "hindsight is 20/20" things in life.
I choose to miss the Pat Metheney show he did 10 days ago here in Olympia. 15 minutes from home; that's not happening again any time soon - or perhaps even in this lifetime.
Enclosed venue and I just chickened out due to stupid covid. Vax status required - probably would have been OK. Probably. I heard about it well in advance, but didnt give it much thought, just "nope".
Listening to an interview with him this morning on San Diego Jazz 88.3. They have a shell where he'll be performing outdoors...

That’s a bummer, but some things you just have to try and accept I guess…
I do still regret not having seen Robin Trower some 27 years ago play a small bar in a small town where I had been living. The lack of money while in school drove that decision, and it was valid.
The risks of having a life threatening illness or exposing your family to the same are very real, and it sounds like a good trade off to not have that possibility!

Wow! I have nothing positive to say about your decision. 😱

Jjasniew,
Until Metheney plays in your area again I'd recommend seeing Dan Balmer. He's in your neck of the woods.

Thanks Phase - I did get to see Robin T. I did miss Pink Floyd perform The Dark Side of the Moon, because my SATs were the next day...
Jeff - I have nothing positive to say either and it's kinda depressing, actually.
Fusor, thanks for the suggestion. I guess its the going out to a venue aspect to see a performance, no matter who it is. I have a feeling if I get sick, I just might not pull through. Too risky 6 mos+ out; I'd feel better having a booster and back to 95%!

You know, Joe- your feeling bad about this is like the guy who "spent most of my money on women and booze- the rest I just wasted!"
I don't know about your family and contacts health-wise, but for me it's not a choice.
Linda had radio for lung cancer last year, we were wearing masks before the plague even appeared.
I have been buying music directly from musicians where possible, but with three state troopers recently resigning when caught with fake vax cards(yes, in Vermont, where you don't need an appointment, or wait more than a few minutes if at all), I am not that trusting of my fellow bipods to be that close.
Just call me dear old aunty social.
