Ferris Bueller's Day Off
This house is just a few miles from my house. It does attract some tourist attention.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The house actually looks just like it did in the movie. It's in a very exclusive neighborhood.
Theres a house in a neighborhood near mine that has plate windows like that from the ground floor to second floor. We used to call it the " Ferris Beuller house".
I know. Makes more sense on a garage.
Who wants you to see into the second floor of a house?

A lot of modern architecture has residential units that are basically fishbowls. I've seen condos where you can see almost 100% of the interior of the unit from the sidewalk.
It looks cool, but I would have to have some of the house more private. I have two rooms in my house where one whole wall is windows and I like it, but I wouldn't like it if the whole house was like that.

I have 6ft plate glass windows on 1st floor.
Not looking forward to replacing them.
I digress. Back to the show....🙂

I replaced mine 20 years ago. I think it was around 25 grand.
It'd be a lot more now. It was a good investment because they're way more energy efficient that the original low tech single pane windows.

No. But they had to be custom made. They're made by Pella. At the time the price was no object.
Some of my neighbors had standard sized replacement windows installed. They had to fill part of the aperture with brick or siding, and drywall inside. That looks cheap, cheap, cheap, and it's a lot more work so it doesn't save as much money as you think.
The house is worth a lot of money for being so basic so it's worth fixing up. Here it is 7800 N Kildare Ave, Skokie, IL 60076 | Redfin Pics are old it's had a lot of work done to it since then.

Using a loose definition of "audiophile":
The rebooted Cowboy Bebob has a disco speaker and other stuff in the background. The studio image is mighty dark, #2 is lightened.
Yes, the Corgi is the real star.

I watched a movie called Nobody (feat. Bob Odenkirk) and he is seen using his hifi setup in his basement. It’s a big part of the scene actually. Couldn’t make out his turntable but his receiver is a vintage Rotel of some kind. Very violent movie that’s also very funny at times.
