230V 2x24V 1000VA for 50.93 EUR.
230V 2x24V 3000VA for 104.43 EUR.
6.90 EUR shipping to Germany.
I ordered two of the 1000VA transformers for my Sony VFET amp and I can say they look great. Haven't hooked them up yet though.

Please do so before recommending them. This world is full of disappointing heavily humming cheap quality toroids already. I have good experiences with Sedlbauer Polytronik toroids. Maybe a case of: spend more and get more.

I tend to agree with jean-paul's comments.
One doesn't know of the quality and/or certifications of ebay-featured products.
Is the insulation and windings up to standards?
Do these include proper mounting hardware?
Does open-circuit testing, including HiPot show any abnormalties?
We're dealing with line voltages here, and safety is a priority.

Hello Jean Paul,
I also used many Sedlbauer Toroids in my amp-builds. Not the cheapest - but
excellent quality! 😉
Cheers
Dirk 😀

Hi, yes they are but who knows till when? 🙂 Almost anything is or will be produced in a certain country far away. There is a thread here with someone complaining about hum of Sedlbauer toroids but I never had that with any Sedlbauer toroid. Still R-Core transformers are my weapon of choice when possible. In small VA ratings Talema toroids are also OK especially the molded versions.
The call for cheap seems counterproductive as a DIY device will be more expensive than ready built stuff so I would not skimp on quality when buying one of the most essential parts.

You have a point here.
I hooked my 8Ohm dummy load resistors to the secondary windings. Voltage dropped from 25.3V open circuit to 24.8V. That's about 150W, a little more than the Sony VFET amp will be dissipating. I don't know how they will behave under significantly heavier load though
The transformer is nice and quiet, it's center potted and sure looks better than anything I've bought from Reichelt along the lines of toroidal transformers.
The reason why they're so cheap is they're surplus. The company stopped a product line, so they're selling the excess inventory.

Mueller-Rondo or Toroidy for me 🙂
Though, the Mueller-Rondo I have mostly used for tube amps.

I ordered one of those 1kW toriods beginning of july.
This one will fire up my future F5T mono blocks.
Will be one seperate PSU for the monos.
Still wondering about the DC power connectors I can use here.
Does someone have ideas for me?

I've used gold plated 4mm banana connectors that are used to connect brushless motors for R/C airplanes.

Just when I thought I knew most German quality brands.... Danke schön for the Müller/Rondo tip! I only bought 1 Toroidy but never really used it. Seems good quality though, it is at least silent.
The Konfigurator is nice:

AMP Flachstecker (isolated versions) are plain good when the right size for the cable is chosen. Make sure NOT to use gold plated versions as gold is not the material to use for heavy currents. Just make sure to use the right crimping tool and never solder wires.
Or do you mean the connectors for an external PSU? Then Hirschmann CA series are OK provided the 10A rating is enough for your purpose. I think it is wise to check if the caps will drain fast enough at power off as plugging in and out DC connectors when there is still a voltage will shorten the life span of connectors.

Hello,
I did not want to make the toroids bad from that ebay-seller!
This is a hard to beat price - perhaps better than expected....

Many thanks for the tip Manfred, great price indeed. Are the secondaries indeed independent (no common) as it seems from your photo?
