I recently came into some old Northern Electric equipment, and was intrigued by these step up transformers. I'm attaching some pics to show the 4 that I have. 3 of them are labelled as R14849A, and one is R14849AS. I have been able to find a datasheet on the R14849AS, and this datasheet includes information about a number of other variants of these transformers, but I haven't been able to find anything that explicitly talks about the R14849A.
I am wondering if anyone can assist me with determining what these A variant transformers are. I had originally thought they were basically the same as the AS, but I'm not so sure now.
I've attached the only spec sheet that I've been able to find. Any assistance with this is greatly appreciated!

The R14849A was manufactured in Canada but originally by US company Western Electric ( Western 618A )under a different type number as microphone/step up transformers for tube amplifiers ,plug-ins were for their amplifier.-

Thanks. I just wasn't sure that they were since they weren't on that datasheet that I found for all the other variants of the R14849 transformers.
I assume they'd have the same pinout as the R14849AS then likely?..
Not sure whether I want to delve into the trying these out with an MC cartridge (don't have one currently), or just selling them.

I took some resistance measurements of the windings, and the A variant lines up with the AS. Same resistance measurements too.
These seem to be in pretty good shape. Resistance of the primary windings are around 12ohms, and the secondary around 3.5Kohms. pin 8 is connected to the can.

"Or just selling them " --- I got a bit of a shock one guy was selling a pair at over $1000 but I don't know if he got that.
There would be no reason to change a passive components pin terminations as it standardized production.

Yeah.. that's the thing, they're worth so much, I don't know if I can justify keeping all 4 of them when they have such a high value on the audio market..
I am going to sell a couple of them I think, and then try out another pair of them for my own use and see how I like them.
