Help me re-engineer my 2A3 amp.

You mean the LTspice schema? I'm a little curious about the zeners in the first interstage. Can you say more ?

It is my observation that extending the LF more than would seem necessary can give beneficial results in bass timbre and perceived speed. DC coupled is about as good as you can get? I made a CD player with a valve D/A:

The eternal CD player - DIY - HiFi WigWam

I didn't publish the final circuit (because it was so good) but it was direct coupled with DC feedback (to be honest I can't actually remember the details, but I have it written down somewhere) I think.

Well, I'm not out to steal your circuit idea. I've just never seen zeners used in exactly that way before.
I have a personal rule:nothing over 6V zener in series with the signal (like in cathode). Consequently, I don't use them very often.

I could PM you a circuit if I can find it, if you are really interested🙂. I have held / been aware of and respected of that " personal rule :nothing over 6V zener in series with the signal" as well, fearing noise. But sometimes I like to try things, that are a little off piste. I had not thought of this idea until now, and was inspired by AndyEvens suggestion of anode choke load. In the DAC circuit, the zenner and its current sink robs current from the anode resistor. That is no longer a problem in the above circuit 🙂. and if i do it right i should be able to bias the 2A3 fairly well as well.

I how have the Sonus Faber Electa running on my little 10 watt PCL86 Class AB amp. This is a happiest pairing yet.

I'm also thinking that you are just around the corner from bi-amping those speakers. 🙂

I had thought about hooking them up to my DCX2496, for a little massage, I was kind of hoping that they would just work with most things. I do crave a universal 2way speaker that just does most things well enough. I like simplicity, but my "good" homemade speakers are now 4 way semi active and really for me are so much better. They have a horn like grip on the air, but with out the "horn" or the dynamics it must be said, but I listen not that loud in a smallish room.
