I am pretty new to working on things and was unable to find a thread with good recommendations, i think the issue is .. i have no idea even what the proper nomenclature for the part i am looking for would be.
I have seen a variety of old receivers come and go through my hands and a common problem is old switches that have been sheared off or other ..
Currently i have an old Nikko NR-1015 with a broken shaft on the speaker selection switch the settings are Off, A, B and A+B it appears the positive amplifier runs to this and is passed accordingly while the negative appears to run right to the terminals. similar to a home light switch)
I am looking for a suitable replacement but there are a lot of terms with regard to polls and such i am not sure what the right description for this switch would be for a company like C&K switch' or others to even know what to search for 🙁

thank you guys .. I think I understand 2 pole 3 throw means off (throw 1 with no pole) throw 2 = Pol1 throw 3 = Pole 2, doing the A+B would basically pass back to the first 2 pols with a jumper/ ?
For me personally id be fine with off and speakers A, but to get things back to proper operating condition id want to find a substitute or a hand full to put things i find back in service
You could use a simple single pole, 4 way switch, two relays and some diodes to do what you want, but you would need a supply for the relays. Probably easier than finding a replacement switch though

The Dynaco PAT-5 preamp had a rotary switch that did exactly the same thing.
Maybe you could find one on ebay.

Doesn't work. Try sketching it on paper and You'll find it is impossible with and ordinary switch.
My Pioneer SA-606 has the same function.
The Wiper contacts are custom made.
Perhaps You could do it with a 3 or 4 gang switch and using the 3rd & 4th gang for shorting A & B on the 4th position.
There are some Nikko speaker rotary switches on ebay, the problem is they're speaker off > a > a+b > b

1/4" is 6.35mm, not 6.33mm
"1/4 inch" often really means 0.249" to ensure a 0.250 inch knob will fit.
There's also a LOT of metric stuff which is just plain 6mm.
