I would say Bonsai is the most level headed poster here so far. 😎More likelihood of a few hundred years to get to other star systems, then little less than 1 million years to propagate through the Milky Way.
People are free to believe what they want. At least in this country it still is the case.
you keep making that assertion based on what facts, exactly?
I've seen no "facts" here on this issue one way or the other.
Aw... those graphic designers who worked for Dune production... 😱Analysis of the Kumburgaz, Turkey UFO Videos

Truth and facts are not necessarily the same thing; I mean, I read that in the interwebs, so it must be right.
Okay, yer busted. At about 4:30 on that third vid you can hear what sounds like water dripping on concrete and then you can just make out what looks like water droplets glistening and sligjhtly moving on that blurry object during the zoom in.These video footage taken in Turkey. I have a chance to watch the raw video couple years ago. After that day i started to believe UFO.

umm...not a nice try. 🙄
what is it? all we have are reports of sightings and fuzzy images. Nobody has yet grabbed one and plonked it down for anybody to touch. there’s no evidence that any of these supposed objects physically exist. If one country had this technology why use it with so little advantage.
You're right, and that's the problem.
That orb that I saw, I certainly had no way to "touch it" or contain it.
However, it wasn't a fuzzy image to my 15 year old eyes, that's for sure.
So the episode is only real to me, and had my mom came to the window to see it, it would have been real for her too.
But alas, that is the issue, a one-person sighting of "something unusual".
And like hearsay, it doesn't hold up in a court of law.
As for the overwhelming numbers of ET images out there, why are they naked?
I'd be naked too if I came from a cold planet to earth's humidity and heat.
Maybe the aliens don't have shyness issues or a nice department store to shop at.

They're Ferengi women.

I’ve no doubt that if I’d had an experience like yours, I’d be fairly convinced something real was going on but it’s hard to bridge that gulf from where I sit today.

I can understand your position, and it's quite reasonable, as us humans are prone to be.
Reversing the situation, I'd be skeptical as well.
I'm not trying to convince others of this oddity, just relating something that I myself have experienced, and share with others that have also, because even though some might think we're nuts, it's an oddity that remains a mystery, and likely will remain one.

Agree, as far as alien visitation is concerned Evidence of the craft, on the other hand, is slowly but steadily mounting. The controlling intelligence remains a mystery.

Many previous sightings of UFO's were triangular shaped craft.
Later USAF planes appeared that were triangular.
I've seen the Black Triangle craft. Closer in shape to the F-117, but no "wingtips", it was flat across the back. At the apparent size it was it would have to have been very low to be an F-117, but it wasn't making any sound. The F-117 isn't that quiet and it would have to be going way to slow for an F-117.
It's hard to place a size on the thing, best guess maybe 100~150 long, not quite as wide, flying at maybe 300~500 ft and not going very fast (or it could have been bigger and higher, just hard to put a size on a quiet black craft at night) for the size. It passed to the west of my place just after dusk, still a little glow in the west, travelling south to north. Made a bit of an S curve after it went by so I was looking at it nearly tail on then. It was blacker than the sky behind it.
No bright lights, but each point of the triangle was a little lighter or maybe dimly lit. No doubt at all on the shape, it was a triangle, not a boomerang shape. This was prior to the public unveiling of the B-2, as best as I can recall it would have been about 1986 to 1989, but it wasn't shaped like the B-2 at all.
I'd love to know what the heck it was. If you read any of my posts in the various UFO threads, I'm not really convinced aliens are visiting us. Stealth aircraft of human origin has always been my first guess, but I admit that the flight envelope seemed a bit quiet and slow compared to the known human stuff I've seen flying along and I suppose there'll always be a "was it aliens" nagging me until I find out what it was, just that I think there are a lot more things it could have been other than aliens.

1. I am old enough to remember in 1969 they were talking about landing men on Mars within 10 yrs . . . or nuclear fusion, or a cure for cancer. Regarding our arrival at the nearest star systems and propagation through the galaxy, I didn't realize you were an expert in these matters.
2. Yes, of course you are free to believe in fairy stories.

Bonsai, you keep making that assertion based on what facts, exactly? It sounds like wishful thinking.
No, I read papers by academics that consider this issue very, very carefully. I am not a scientist, but the argumentation they put forward is well considered and as I said before, its all very well saying there are billions of planets out there, but no one talks about the biological hurdles and once you factor that in, the balance in favour of a Milky Way (or any other galaxy) teeming with advanced civilizations looks decidedly unlikely.
Nevertheless, if you have science papers you can link to that support the opposite view, I'd love to see them.
Per your evaluation method on expert, it's anyone who expresses numbers?I didn't realize you were an expert in these matters.
Fairy stories would be included. We are also free to believe in documentaries, medical journals, double blind tests... etc.2. Yes, of course you are free to believe in fairy stories.
We will soon have the technology to be able to confidently determine the makeup of the atmospheres of small rocky planets orbiting distant stars in the habitable zone.
Shouldn't we or you wait till we have that technology (in quote at the top) to make such decisive conclusion? No, I read papers by academics that consider this issue very, very carefully.
