It may well be, but AFAIC in an MTM drivers should be as close as possible and ideally C-C of the Ms is a quarter wavelength at te XO.

1/4 wavelength is almost impossible to do with a tweeter and small mids. Half wavelength just about..

D'Appolito does attempt to compensate this though. If you had them within 1/4wl would you really need 2 'M's?
It is. This is how i did it.
Allen. Because the A12pw is so very good but 1 is not as nice as 2… i even have a scheme for 4.

Dave, in retrospect I was making a point with a blunt stick 😉 D'Appolito presumably came up with the plan because sometimes 1/4wl isn't possible.
Thats a full range. Cd also try a tekton type approach with monacor 2" or alpair 5.2. that wd work nicely
In his first MTM paper d’Appolito did a bunch of fancy footwork to justify what he did, then he promptly did something a little bit different with the next one.
I built (with Ted) my first MTM in 1975, a pair of Harbeth (?clear poly cones) 8” midwoofers, don’t remember what tweeter. Some sort of classic TL. Crossover was likely bad.

A12pw is a midbass, bw stands for bass wide. They reach 10k on axis. The A7.3eN is a full-range used as a midTweeter. XO at 250 Hz. Effectively coincident drivers. No lobing.

I think I have both those drivers. 12pw I used with a ribbon tweet but had a real problem around 1-3 khz, cdnt get the response flat. I'll need to retry
