I know this a DIY forum and I should be prepared to Do It My (&*#^%#) Self!! but... I don't wanna.
Do you know of anyone in the NE USA who would be able to get a Hickok tube tester working? The tester is in good shape, not a basket case. I just feel I'm out of my depth with all that switching and stuff in a tube tester.
Thanks.

I feel your pain. I have a Hickok myself that needs repair. Unfortunately mine has a multi-tap transformer that has one winding/tap faulty. Not a simple job to yank it out, figure out the zillion windings/taps and rewind it. So depending on what exactly is wrong with yours, it maybe dificult and expensive for anyone to repair. Hopefully yours has simpler problems. What model is it?
As Dgta says --what is the model?
As you know Hickok has a very large range of testers being in business for a very long time --there is information on YouTube showing repairs to Hickok testers .
If just one tap is faulty on a tube tester a small transformer can be added to take the place of the faulty winding.
It isn't an audio transformer we are talking about just a part of a power supply that has a large range of heater and HT+ voltages .
Diagrams are available but patience is needed tracing out the wiring.
But if you are determined to not DIY then several US websites recommend-

Unfortunately that's not always true. I don't want to hijack the thread, but in my case it's not as simple as that.
Even though these guys are not close, you may want to talk to them.
