I might have many metres of really good quality Alphawire silver coated copper with ptfe insulation. (1000ft) However only in black and red... Will check what dimensions (awg they are).

Wire is cheap and readily (sort of 🙂 available, so why not use the best one can obtain for a reasonable price. Try teflon wire insulation when you solder/ pre-tin these wires and then come back and tell me it ain't worth it vs that plastic (PVC) stuff. PVC is used because it is cheapo for a mfg who really does not care about wire quality. I was turned on to telfon wire when I was a green tech working at Motorla comm. I still have some of it I borrowed for projects. Eek hot PVC 🙂

I have used the TE/Raychem hookup wire for a while now and I like it.

Raychem has lots of options (Tin coated, Ag coated, etc.)
Sold by the foot (at least in Canada), and well priced.

How is the quality? Does it smell? I bought some from Amazon and the smell was so bad I had to return it.
