Dynaudio BM6 Passive Schematic

I am looking for a schematic for Dynaudio BM6 passive monitors. I've tried contacting Dynaudio with no response. I have a few pairs with inductors fried in the tweeter crossover. Even if anyone knows the value of this inductor it would be very helpful.

There is another way of finding out value of a fried inductor. Unwind the whole fried wire and measure its exact length and diameter. Measure also the former (bobbin) properties, just in case. Inner diameter, outer diameter, and width between the sides.
 
Thank you for the input. I unwound one. Can't quite figure out the gauge, but it's around 720cm long.

Wow, that speaker must have been pushed to rock concert levels. I have never seen inductors cooked that bad.

I have some paper dynaudio schematics on file which I have to dig out. I've repaired a few of those monitors and usually the drivers disintegrate way before the inductors go. You may want to replace all the resistors too even if they measure ok.

That would be great if you could find the schematics. I would really appreciate it. I thought the tweeters were blown. I pulled them, and they all tested fine. They still work perfectly. I've lost some woofers on these, but never tweeters. These inductors actually caught fire. The foam inside was burned and melted to the crossovers.

These are some of the toughest speakers I've used. They were run for about a decade, 600 watt per channel amps, 24/7. Usually turned up as loud as they could go.
 
I think you are getting there.

Here's a couple of typical dynaudio circuits:

Bass is a roughly 1mH coil and impedance compensation.

Tweeter is resistor 6.8uF capacitor, and yes, probably 0.15-0.2mH plus a 1uf/10R zobel.

Probably not even very critical on values. Dynaudio tweeter are all much the same and about 2.5kHz crossover.
 
Thanks to everyone who assisted. I have ordered 0.15, 0.2, and 0.25mH inductors. I will experiment with what seems to be the best match. I also ordered some new resistors and film caps to replace the electrolytics. I will have to replace the tweeter inductors in all the monitors so they match. They are used in various stereo and 5.1 configurations, and will likely get swapped around as they are repaired again in the future.

I neglected the 1.2R resistor. Usually in series with the tweeter coil, and the scorching corroborates this.

I think the tweeter coil and resistor fried. Then the 10W 12R went open circuit like a fuse. At 12R the 6R tweeter never got more than 5W.

So saved your Esotar tweeters. A good design. 🙂

I always try to give the crossover some air, free of stuffing.

My file on dynaudio doesn't have the passive version xover schematic. Whats the serial number on the bad speaker? Therr are 3 versions of the xover and need to know first. Have a contact at dynaudio who can give me specs.
