Yup, got this blue piece of history. I have not recieved the package yet, this is an pic from the "luvdunhill" days, it´s his prototype build as I understand it. I hate the paintjob though, it´s well made sure but man, why would someone do that? 
Any owners in her that can tell me about good pairings, I am looking at the LCD-x, LCD-2, Sundara but at lower ohms it may not be the best choices even though the ampdesign should be pretty good for different impedances. Anyone run planars with this one?

As they say - they say there's someone to love... no let's just agree that hit every branch of the ugly tree as it fell 😀
OCD is that the blues are different and they even painted the metal nut.. that would have setoff the switch and they painted the volume.. that's could do with reduction..

You probably bought ( as you say ) the "prototype" but more likely a copy as the original has BLACK "paint job " has the logo Torpedo emblazoned across its front panel at the top --has a nice CHROME front to the headphone socket with a "headphone emblem " above it .
The "Z" switch has hi above and lo below --even the casing and screws are different -the black version has nice flat ones .
Also on the front panel is= parafeed headphone amplifier .
You sure somebody hasn't has copied the basic design as they say in modern parlance " cloned it " ?
Or worse its stamped on the bottom --"Made in China " ?
Its suspicious the original company,s probably patented Trade Mark is not on the front panel .
I do agree though hate the color - if it was an automobile and it had a respray like that I would sue the auto-shop.

Several people had the oppurtunity to build prototypes of this one as it were. This was built by user "luvdunhill" that hung around the headfi forum. If you follow the link you can check it out. It´s one of the early prototypes.
