Posting this here in case it helps someone else. I recently picked up a decent Denon DP59L but the cover was thrashed. You can buy replacement moulded ones on eBay but at a cost! I wanted just something simple that didn't look completely hideous.
I saw a post elsewhere recommending a company in Germany who makes simple bolt together display cases. The cost is low, the lid pictured here was 38e plus vat. Shipping is cheaper because it's sent (very well packed) flat pack. The pics below show the assembled case, so you can see what it looks like. Not the same as original, but not bad and about a 6th of the cost of a moulded one.

Any similar recommendations for US people? Looking for a similar thing for a Yamaha YP-211 I just picked up myself 😀
Shipping from Germany to the US mightn't be too expensive - it might be worth working up an order to see what shipping would be just before paying?
Fabricate it using acrylic sheet (Plexiglass)
Use chloroform for solvent bonding, or clear epoxy, the kind used for bonding glass handles to doors
The rest of the stuff like sourcing hinges and so on you can do yourself.
Any decent dealer will cut the sheets to size, ask to buff the cut edges to remove saw marks.
6 mm or 1/4 inch is thick enough, you can use 4 or 5 mm also.
Have fun.

BTW, most original covers seem to be around 4mm, and while the temptation is there to go thicker, beware that the result might be that the lid is too heavy for the hinges.

Second, all thickness and size combinations may not be available, as sheets come in 6 x 3 feet and bigger.
For a cover, you need part of a sheet.
So the dealer is left with a part sheet, or he has a part sheet left over from a previous job.
That is DIY anyway...
The original covers may have been cast acrylic or injection molded, fabrication is slow.
Injection molding produces stronger parts than fabricated ones.
I mold plastics...so part of that advice was from experience.

That's really good cover and I spend ballpark $50 at a local shop for the replacement cover of an Amstard/BSR turntable, much to my chagrin the cover never did fit properly and I ended up throwing it away.
Well lesson learned, will be placing order with "sora-shop"
