ive spent the last year trying to find a desktop amp to replace my kenwood 209(150watts) that i have powering my 600watt 12inch sub all i can find are stereo power amps with a bridged mono mode that i dont trust can do its claimed 150watts at one point i found an amp that claims 230watts but cant find it for the life of me 🙁 and i hate the idea of getting one of those plate amps come on i dont want to put a hole in the side of my box i want something pretty on my huge desk and not cost me more then $250 for a measly 200 watts why cant these manufactures produce such a product when car audio easily beats it at 12 volts cone on we have 120/240 volts to farts around with take advantage of that fact already

try this:
Sure Electronics AA-AB31241 1x600W TAS5630 Class-D Amplifier Board
The trouble with buying lower powered amps is the competition drives down prices but often the quality of the amp too.
I bough a 200 watt amp off ebay. I had a look inside and no way its 200 watts, the transformer was tiny !
I built my own for a mobile disco.
Nothing special or complicated just a class AB 400 watt amp.
I added DC protection to the pcb to keep things compact.

You're positive sub is capable of dissipating 600W? Make and model of sub?

interesting idea but good luck finding a prebuilt enclosure for 2 of them and a PSU that can fit into the same enclosure and stay within budget
in sorry but that falls under the too expensive and fuggly to be displayed on a desk and probably break my desk

Thanks, what do you think of Rotel class D amplifiers?
These look fine, and 2nd hand might not be that expensive.

looks pretty but it lacks volume control and im in the usa well i got my eye on a crown XLS 1002 since its a 2ohm stable amp i wont have to worry about my sub killing the amp while its just sitting there powered on
