AK4499EQ - Best DAC ever

......i truly don’t know where to begin if you think there is no bias because you are doing it for yourselves and not the market. That just makes you a true believer rather than cynical.

Btw, it’s really confusing when you say things like, “More investigations with even better clocks are needed, which is precisely what we will do soon,”

And then one sentence later say, “ Oscillators are only a little part of the project, the development is ended.”

Yes, I'm a true believer in what I hear.
Because for me the only goal of this hobby is to listen to music in the most realistic way as possible rather than measure what I have built and write physics treatises (I don't have the presumption that I can).
When I will be satisfied with the sonic results according to my taste the goal is reached.
The end.

Finally you should read carefully.
The oscillators develepment is ended, we have reached -150dBc at 10Hz from the carrier, so there is no way to get better performance with electronics upgrade.
At this levels the crystal makes the difference (random walk) and we cannot get better crystals than the one we have installed.
But we have not yet tried the above oscillator in a suitable audio system because we are still developing it.

As I have wrote several times, until now I have compared several oscillators and the best I tried was the EC with a phase noise of -127dBc at 10 Hz from the carrier.
So I know that the EC type performs much better than the others I have tried, but I still don't know how the best we have built will perform.

Can you understand we are not professionals so our developing times are long?

It's not my problem you misinterpret my curiosity, it won't stop me asking questions and wondering why. I don't believe Mark when he says it doesn't matter to him. :)

You can ask any questions you want and I will always answer you to try and listen to.

But if you want from me a mathematical proof of what I have heard, I am sorry but I am unable to offer it.
I don't have the skills and I don't have the equipment to do it.
I only own a Timepod and with this I have measured the phase noise of the oscillators I have compared.
I cannot do better measurements.
I have said that from the beginning.
We are ordinary hobbyists, not professionals or audio researchers.

Then, have you tried and found no difference?
Stop, follow your own way, I keep following mine.

Year 500BC month of Februa .

It is said that Pythagoras discovered that earth is round through a series of direct observations of the Moon .

Scoxx , wonders why its that way. Do we know the reason ?

Zaxx thinks its in the eye of beholder . Left eyesight must be biased . Himself he never looked at the moon(even though he is a thinker) but he believes its bias.

HAL wants proof based on sacred stories of AP gods . Its a known fact that all there is to know its based on ... mythology .

Year 2021.

Earth is round . :)

Do You mean like this? :D

I have explained what we have made, I have explained our subjective listening impressions, I have measured ours oscillators (and others), I have shared our designs.

I think we've done enough for the audio community.

Finally, I have no interest in proving anything.

If you want, try it too, otherwise live happy.

Moreover I'm here because those who are obsessed on the measurements are really funny.
You should know this given the replies you received from the same people who post on this thread, one of these for example
"Just curious, do you have any measurements to share?"

Something i realized today watching some Youtube presentations of extremely high end systems was that one is expected to listen to excruciatingly boring music to evaluate the sound. This is a torture that I will pass on. Do audiophiles really sit around listening to this shite?

But Scott, dont you like Diana Krall?

Agreed mate, some of the typical audiophile test music is dull enough to put you to sleep. Some seem to 'wear it' like a uniform and suffer through it in groups. It's already a bit of a strange idea to me, to use youtube videos to evaluate sound character of other people's systems, so if I have to listen to boring music, its immediately switched off.

Oh I wasnt blaming the process for DK. She is just an example of the boring audiophile 'standards' IMO. My youtube SQ confusion is just a compounding factor that has me changing channels quickly.

OMG, there is a fusion of easy listening elevator jazz and C&W? That sounds unholy and proof there is no God (uggh, my apologies mods if that comment is against the rules. I will happily remove it). I'll add that genre to my 'music to slash my wrists to' playlist. These type of things and their proliferation on youtube, vs the informative webpages of old that contain static images of the same; are, along with bitcoin blockchain mining, one of the largest wastes of energy and computing power in the 21st century IMO.

As horrible as those types of things are, Bitcoin is still a level above :p

The report that miners are consuming more energy than the nation of Argentina is just wild. Makes class A tube amps look efficient ;)
