Just a word of caution ...
I recently bought some items on EBAY.
Almost immediately, the seller sent me a mail stating that his daughter had just been diagnosed with Covid-19 and consequently he and the rest of the family were isolating and also getting tested.
Did I want to cancel the sale or postpone him sending.?
I postponed him sending and wished him luck.
However, it did make me think.
How many people are selling on Ebay and other sites who have Covid-19 and are either unaware of it or who just do not say?
I have always sprayed any package with anti-viral on receipt and then left them for 2/4 days before opening.

If it worries you then just quarantine the package for 7 days. We do that with our deliveries and library books. But then again, at this stage we don't have an issue with Covid here.

No, it has not just occurred to me.
We have been isolating since February last year, hardly venturing outside and relying on home deliveries.
We disinfect anything coming to the house and routinely wash with anti-viral hand wash.
I was commenting on the vendor actually stating that someone in his household had COVID.

I see. Because one doesn't know the idea is to presume anything coming into your home or outside your home is contaminated. Imagine how things would be now if we'd reacted like the Chinese.
A virus cannot survive a day in mail transit and still be contagious and active. Lets not get paranoid.

I really think you're right, but I'm not sure.
I've been extra careful about everything. I don't want to get sick. I had some kind of flu about 15 years ago (when I was younger and much more robust) and I seriously thought about dying. I was going to go to the hospital but started to feel better and was able to hold down water after three days. I snapped right back but now that would kill me. This time around I'm pretty sure Covid 19 would kill me without hospitalization.
I took a test last week. One of my clients required it. I passed.
It's unclear. The link above states for cardboard shipping boxes 24 hours, but for paper, as in mail or newspaper, states that some strains of Coronavirus live for only a few minutes and others up to five days.

I was told by the chemist at my doctors dispensary that they no longer use paper notes for prescriptions as the viruses can live for 3 or 4 days on paper. I have also previously been told by the now extinct British, Health Protection Agency, that cloth is a perfect medium to keep viruses alive, (they die when they dry out). I have also been told recently that if tried on, clothes are now "quarantined" in a bin for a few days before return to the rails. I took an interest in things due to a project I was involved in. (It just so happened also to involve going to ladies lingerie shows!).
