As awful as the COVID situation is, it has allowed for some unique opportunities for me and maybe for others.
I'm in a high-risk group so I've been especially isolated since March but I work in an office that is completely locked down except to my wife and myself, we have the place to ourselves. We moved in our exercise bikes, a toaster oven and its more or less become our livingroom/workplace. We bring our cats even.
So to complete the setup, I moved my main audio system in which has given me extensive listening time. Roon / Beyma TPL-150H / 12P80Nd / MiniDSP SHD and a pair of $50 TI TPA3251 based amps. I know the amps are not special but it has been a very special experience to be able to listen to music all day.
My wife tends to work in the lab area so I set up a system for her today. OkaraOW1 with Hiquphon OW1/Vifa P13WH, MiniDSP DDRC-24, a friend's loaned turntable, an antique Radio Shack phono pre, 2x ACA amps and a ridiculous collection of adapters to make it work. Just tuned the DSP by ear and it's fine, not critical listening.
I know many are not so fortunate as we are but I hope everyone is making the most of what they do have. Happy new year.

Do cats or other animals transmit Covid 19 to humans?
I really don't feel qualified to answer, after millions of minks have been slaughtered in Denmark and other countries ..... if there is no risk? Why did they do it ?
But we better leave the debate for next year (if the mods allow it)
A starving cat appeared a few days ago at my home, we fed her and then we found out that she is from a neighboring house and that she had a baby, but they are not responsible forks ..... my wife does not want me to continue feeding her .. .I do not know what to do... (My wife and I are at risk group ...)
OP. Nice system configuration! , music allows us to make the drama of the pandemic more bearable .... Happy New Year everyone!

If our cats get COVID it will be from us, since they are even more isolated from other people and animals than we are!
Alright, back to 40s junction!
Looking forward to a brand new year with brand new problems 🙂

Here's my COVID system, set up quickly in the den which was my bedroom when my wife was self-isolating within our house. Still used, but the stack was taller at one time, however that drew a rebuff from my wife. Twin Samsung HD841, both with modded firmware to become truly universal players, feeding a Technics SU-V78, feeding Mini Advents.

I was about to move when the lockdown happened all my ‘good’ gear carefully packed in storage. So with only access to my ‘garage’ gear and CL here’s how I’m livin...
Sony gx700es, free from CL
Polk S6 monitors, 10$ on CL
Kef ht1000? 5$ at a garage sale
RPi 2 (running moode), free CL
Schiit Modi 2, 25$ on CL
Small Yamaha sub, 7.75$ on eBay
Getting a nice sound out of this collection of gear was not to hard, kefs on top of the polks all running together in stereo, sub turn down (it gets boomy when you turn it up). The gx700 is a study in mediocrity...it basically sounds like crap most of the time in bypass mode but sounds acceptable with Sony’s live or acoustic sound fields, but it has plenty of power and the price was right.

@Indigent Audio When the Raspberry Pi is by far the most expensive component of the system, love it 🙂
@Leadbelly Nice use of space
It nice to see those old amps still ticking since some much modern stuff tends not to be built to last. I gave away my old Denon amp a while ago after using it for literally decades and while it had a few issues was still usable.

I made a pair of Bluetooth bookshelf speakers for my daughter, have a tpa3116 board inside one of them, are hardwired together. The actual drivers are 3.5” 2-way JBL P6432 car speaker. They had a peak at around 170hz, but copious use of closed cell foam tamed that to a gradual decay and a surprising coverage of the lower octaves from such a small speaker.

Basically: yes, but at low probability.Do cats or other animals transmit Covid 19 to humans?
See here at U.S. CDC: Based on the limited information available to date, the risk of animals spreading COVID-19 to people is considered to be low.
This is why we don’t have medical threads on here, the CDC is at a low point in its history and may not be the best source right now, there is no data (and no cdc confirmed cases) of pets spreading the virus to humans, and very limited data on if humans can spread it to pets. This is called guidance because the cdc does not have evidence. Who knows dogs might be fine but maybe the cats are spreading the virus every time they purr ...see without a medical degree and a lab conjecture gets us no where. Back to laminating the cost of tubes...
Following the guidelines certainly allows one to get a backlog of projects built.
