Also it might be worthwhile to see if they have the XLR shorting pins to connect the XLR input to gnd when using the single ended RCA inputs. As supplied by Pass Labs for their amps.

I see Cardas has them listed under accessories when you look at the Cardas link you posted.

What Zen Mod does and I agree this is actually a superior method - is to make cables with an RCA on one end and XLR on the other and short the pins of the XLR on the cable, with a superior soldered shorted connection on the pins.

You'll never need to worry about losing anything or forgetting to install a shorting pin.

Sonic craft have them listed under Accessories then protective caps at $3.00 each, much easier than ZM's method I would have thought and cheaper.

Cardas CGSP is the part number.

I can see ZM's point though.

I am not in this time for a chassis or two.....but just a comment for those who want to build mono blocks. They need a back panel with cut outs for only one set of connectors and then the IEC inlet connector in the opposite side? And then a mirrored version so L and R can be mirrored? ....a L-panel might just be flipped to be used as R-panel but usually only one side is "pristine"?

Not necessarily.
May as well just get 2 stereo chassis back panels so you have the flexibility later to revert to stereo etc.

Just wire up what you need.

I'm always changing my mind. Having the flexibility to do whatever you want is nice. That's how my existing monoblocks look everything is mounted on the back panel for a stereo amp but i just wire up what I need.
Then I add new amps to the other heatsink to A/B them as 2 monoblocks per chassis etc.

Yes, it is of course a very flexible solution to have both possibilities using same back panel. I was thinking that for 100% mono block it was nice to have the IEC inlet as far away from the amp board as possible....but as it is a very big box....it will probably not make a big difference. But I did it the 100% "mono block way" for my M2X (then it was a special order back panel). I also added an extra set of speaker outlets to make it very easy to bi-wire. But there are also solutions for that with only one set of speaker posts.
