Noticed Madisound is now selling SB Audience line. Looking at the Nero 18” and 21”, they seem among the highest efficiency drivers around and in typical SB fashion the price is right. Anyone have any experience at all with these. After doing Troels “The Loudspeaker” and building a SET amp I have the high efficiency bug though not a fan of horns or single driver systems.
Can’t find much on the lineup besides AX test on the budget compression driver. I’m thinking of a 3 way targeting as close to 100dB as I can get and hoped I’m not the first to use these drivers! Guess I could start with building HT surrounds 2-way as a test...

I just got the Nero 12 midwoofer and both Rosso 65DT and 65 DNT compression drivers. I will be doing some posts here as I move through testing. First impressions are very positive.
If you want to avoid compression drivers, you could use the new nero 6 along with a higher eff SB Acoustics tweeter. There are a few woofers to choose from in the audience line.
Same company. Different line. SB Acoustics = home sudio. SB Audience = professional audio. SB Automotive = you guessed it!

I wish they would have tested the two model lines above that, those were the ones that seemed promising to me. Nothing about the Bianco CD says anything other than "cheap driver" to me.

Please do let me know how it goes. I may have to pick up a few to play with🙂
