Suppose that you make a three way speaker with WS 200 s Visaton woofers times two in about 110 lt enclosure use also Visaton DSM 25 ffl tweeter but also use 2pcs ws 100 for midrange
I was looking at the graph it seems that WS 100 (86db ) if used for midrange and even if times two it will not have any juice in the hi mid area
Do you agree ?
W 100 S - 8 Ohm | Visaton

I do have the option to use one Ciare HM 130 ( 91 db ) instead that looks far better

In the 30 euro range there will be more options. Checkout smaller Faital Pro drivers for instance. Btw, do NOT order from that website! Just search here for more info on that shop.

Hmm, you ideally need a [250*6000]^0.5 = ~1224.75 Hz mean = ~34400/pi/1224.75 = 8.94 cm effective diameter = 130S [closest] and notch or not, makes it to 6 kHz with efficiency to spare, so agree. 😉

Indeed! Though so heavily smoothed, makes me wonder what they're hiding plus awhile back saw some Ciare wide range driver's measurements, specs that made published look like a completely different driver, so 'caveat emptor' may apply.

Is it just me, or am I right to be confused here! 😀
The WS 200 is non-existent! The W200S I know and love.

Anyhow the W 100 S - 8 Ohm | Visaton is a cracking little 4" mid IMO.
Use it in a circuit like this Troels Gravesen SEAS 3 way classic:
You could even get extravagant and use two wired in series like the Wharfedale E70:
Software | Visaton
3 Wege – Boxsim Projektdatenbank

The WS 100 does not exist afaik. Did you mean the W 100 S? If you want to use the W 100 S, it is also available in 4 Ohm. If you want to use two, the crossover will increase the impedance but it will leave you definitely enough spl. You can try it's behaviour with Boxsim, all Visaton drivers are in it.
The W 100 S is quite well behaved sound wise. The Ciare HM 130 is bigger, sounds a bit more direct but got a resonance at ~1,8kHz with a ridge in the decay.
Where do you want to cross the mid driver over? The Ciare is a pure midrange driver with very low excursion (normal for a mid, 0,1mm) and a high fs and resonance peak, which is not always easy to handle passive. The W 100 S got a low fs of 65Hz, that's likely much less effort and you can cross it over very low, you could even use it as a bass-mid driver in a small speaker or with a subwoofer but I digress, sry.
The Monacor MSH-115 is an excellent and easy to handle midrange driver, if the spl is too tight, the Monacor MSH-116/4 is almost identical except for the impedance and basket (round). You can get both in Germany for below 40€ (MSH-115 ie. at Thomann 39€). The Ciare is on sale at Europe Audio (34€).
