Hello,
Would like to know if someone already purchased some Mundorf Evo Oil caps pair and please can have an input about the capacitance precision he get ?
Did you noticed 3% or higher with 47 uF marking ? Maybe less ?
Many thanks

By the way like most things in life oil filled capacitors are far from "new school "
I remember some old radios which had smoothing/reservoir capacitors with oil in them as well as oil filled transformers.
Looking at their advertisements on many websites they make a big point of this "3 % " business are you trying for a "class action " suite if they are out of spec ?

My100uF have measured bettter then 3% -98 and 99 uF Supreme however didn’t do so well 4% and 6%. But so far jentzen silver-z were the most accurate within 0.5%.
Thank you Lewart for the testimonial. I had a doubt that you confirm with Mundorf. The lytics bipolars from M. whatever smooth or raw foils I purchased are between 10 anf 12% but advertised 5%.
Even if MKP 47 uF is a sort of middle of the bridge number so less precise most of time than loest capacitance value and I need precision here, i.e not 6% or more of gap in a pair.
Well I have the opportunity to have them easily in my country but will pay the extra service for 1% pairing...abroad !
I hesitated with Jantzen Cross Cap but I want to ad a 47 uF to a 220 uF Crosscap I already have -and which measure 119 uF both but I paid for that cause the big values are a little fancy when it comes to capacitance gap into a pair-
Thanks again.

I've tested & have great results from Auricap XO series Diyiggy.
Sound is even & very transparent, spacious without added sibilance, but as in anything it depends on where you apply it too. Sound wise far far better then the Clarity CSA it replaced.

Man, I bet any component made with that will have a lotta BITE to it, eh?Boiling this guy tonight..... 100% LOCAL snake oil....
Vipera berus?> make sure it's 100% SNAKE oil!

too much pricey for me, reading the link if they had 47 uF it will be the double price of the Evoil Oil... it"s not cheap for red/yellow/green manba cap 😀.
In which case why don't you try Nichicon DB connected in Super E config.
You might be inn for a surprise. Dirt cheap to try ya.

ESR is not low for this Nichicon radial cap and a +--+ will just divide by two the ESR which is not best than a standalone smooth foil bipolar cap here ...
But the price no interest to me . I want to go PP cause I will not have to make it again 15/20 years later. And if you readed I have already a 220 uF PP cap so I don't see the purpose to :: it with a lytic ?! With PP above 400V you have a dead flat Z in the ears bandwidth and it measure more precise for almost the same price than a good MKT (when taking cheap PP like the Jantzen Cross Cap or Solens) the Evo Oil is an exception for me in my buying chart...(it's curiosity here)

it can be managed in the XO if an atenuation is needed. But no doubt than film foil is a little more informative.
The Nichicon is around 0.1 DF iirc, a modern smooth foil (lytic) bipolar is 0.03 to 0.025 and relativly flat at all the ears frequencies for the last. a good PP is 0.00005 %
But nothing bad with lytics, just they are agging too much fast and also it's harder for pairing if you want to have a speaker pair well matched.

Vipera berus?
Ack! No! (I hope!) We call them Garter Snakes. No venom, unaggressive, rarely bite people and then rarely break skin. I see them mostly running away from the lawnmower. This one is the largest I have seen, 75+cm. The Eastern Garter is known for a very wide range of color and pattern.
These mundorfs evo aluminium oil are very good for the money .I've used 8, 10uf 250v on the output of a splitter made with AMB labs parts . All them were very close on my LCR meter 1% . I was looking for something with a reduced size , i bought them from a friend with a web selling speaker components , tried Auricap 200v with the same size and offering nothing more for three times the price.
With all this jive talk about fancy expensive capacitors, here's a reviewer's opinion about them.

In what way is the accuracy of the value important?
