"The power supply of my power supply is my FRIEND!"
Abe, I just love that!
Thanks!
I finished wiring up my SSE with the input selector, 10k Alps pot, and subwoofer out. After a week of listening to it I am pleased. Back to back testing between using my AKSA Lender pre and no pre shows me I cannot hear a difference.
So with my system and my ears I will stick with the integrated amp config. As I noted before my sources are such that they can easily drive the 10k pot and my speakers are an easy load being small fullrange drivers with a zobel in front to keep the impedance curve flat as the frequency climbs. Total system impedance is around 38k assuming 220k for the SSE and 47k for the sub. Cables are also relatively short, 3 foot cable from source to amp, 6 foot cable from amp to sub for testing.
I don't know if any of these factors ultimately impact what I hear but I thought it would be a good data point.
Hooperstack thanks for the links and info. After I finish the SSE I will do some testing with a headphone out using the speaker terminal and resistor setups. I'll also keep my eye out for some used Heresy speakers but would need to find a real bargain to make it happen. Good luck with your pre build, be sure to follow up when you are done.

I'd definitely recommend trying to do a headphone out with the SSE, I just finished wiring it into my existing build and I am very happy with the sound quality. Pretty easy to tweak resistor values to match different headphones. Listening to it with some grado gs1000e and really loving the sound. Used two 8 ohm dummy loads wired with 330 ohm resistors to the headphone jack and it sounds wonderful.
