Hey guys,
I'm building some amps and am looking for good quality panel mount fuse holders.
Does anyone have any experience with a certain brand or type?
thanks
Sam

I use 1/4"x1 1/4" fuses (AG3 in fast blow) for long term availability, also stocked at local auto supply without a freight bill.
The littlefuse & buss panel fuse holders from distributors are fine. They fit in a D shaped hole, so I drill undersized then finish out the hole with a rat tail file. A real file from nicholson, not some import toy.
Where taking the cover off is not a **** , fuse clips that mount inside are easier to machine, requiring 1 or 2 holes to be drilled for #6 screws. My projects are checked out on a light bulb box and don't often blow fuses.

As I know there isn't such a strong dependance between a rated current and a fuse size. Fuse size more dependent on maximum breaking capacity or reliability (under large currents/voltages).under 4A = 5x20 or above 4A = 5x32
@Vovk Z: You are right saying Fuse size is dependent on maximum breaking capacity or reliability. It's more a pratical design rule based on general holder capacity and under sizing for security (intensity vs contact size, fire...).
By the way, I also prefer a slow blow fuse before a transformer.

Correct. 5x20 (mm) are the ones distributed in the metric market, 1/4" x 1 1/4" are for the US market, also for some Europeran automotive. I have 5x20's in 10 A slow blow, for instance. As I know there isn't such a strong dependance between a rated current and a fuse size. Best regards!
Dimensions of a 1/4x1-1/4 and a 22LR differ in so many ways nobody could take it seriously.
And the story is far older than the innernet. I heard it in the 1960s and it was old then.

you need to add your location to your profile so we can help better.
RS Components or Farnell sell a good range of good quality.
Does anyone know if this is a good product?

I use these in all my amps. They work fine.

Schurter "FEZ 755M/756" - other Brands in this Outline ?
Who offer fuse holders in the same outline than the showed Schurter custom made version (i. e. with screw terminals instead solder lugs - have a look to the attached image) ?
The versions under
https://www.amazon.com/Parts-Express-Terminal-Holder-5-Pack/dp/B072YLL65L
and
Fuse Holder with Fuse Clips 6 x 30 with Screw Terminals Brand Feme : Amazon.de: DIY & Tools
not helpful, because no panel mount version.
