I've got the amps assembled and out of standby. However, everything played back is high pitched. Sounds like it's playing from an awful cellphone...
But coming out from the Klipsch towers.
There's almost no bass... it's there when you put your ear up to the woofers but not much else.
When I take the same source and connect it to another amp - it sounds normal. But when I connect the NC400 it's awful again.
Sounds like something isn't wired up quite right.
I'm going from:
DAC to RCA -> RCA to XLR adapter -> NC400 Amp
XLR to amp pins:
Shield, White, Blue
Both left and right channels are behaving the same. Both NC400 modules are affected.
The XLR adapter looks like the photo attached.
Any thoughts?

The Hypex inputs are balanced, so it will only amplify the difference between the signals on the XLR. The lead you have looks like you are feeding stereo to the XLR, so you will only get the difference between left and right, and bass is usually mono so there won't be any. Try unplugging one phono plug and shorting the pin to the sleeve on it

Yes, thats most likely the wrong adapter. You need 2 of these, one for each channel.

Before I go shorting wires on expensive gear.. is the attached image accurate?Try unplugging one phono plug and shorting the pin to the sleeve on it
I think you guys are right about the adapter.
Is there a name for the cable type I need? Or do I need to build one?
I just ordered one of these to try. I'll return it if it doesn't work.

The amazon cable will do the job.

No, skip any cable with 2 RCA. To my recollection there is no standard connection for such cable. A three pole XLR is always for one channel.
