If you wanted to avoid any transfer lines you could print the whole front panel, now that would be tricky to get rid of air bubbles.

I imagine that behind the black finish is the box silver colored. What if one used the same methode as when making pcb and removed the black color in letter pattern?

I use the same technic, but I use usual clear one-side scotch to cover the paper. It makes black deeper too. I cover paper first with scotch. One side - usual one-side scotch to cover. Other (back) side - double sided thin scotch to glue. Then cut with scissors and apply.The White text on Black looks better in reality than the camera captured but the laser toner is very weak and you've got to be very careful not to rub it off.
It still looks not professional, but at least it is protected.

It is very hard to make an even coating. It wil have some random bubbles without covering. It can be easier and better to use total plastic fim cover, like used in advertaising.Just got a insane idea! 🙂
