These were some of the most fun builds I have done. The AO35 hammond and the B&H speaker boxes are like a blank canvas every build. The amps can be tweaked a zillion ways and you can see how creative you can be with the cabinets. If you look at the brown one you can see the patch cord reel. How awesome is that. It was of course some dry rotted speaker cable that had to be rewound with Mogami gold. I also had to put metal bottoms on the amps for shielding. These are almost dead silent but easily over driven. The brown one is also sporting a modified Newcomb TR-16. My son has been playing and collecting for 30 years and I have done tons of work on his many amps. He auditions each of these for me and every single time he is just amazed at the performance out of these compact units. No two of these ever sound the same...component, layout, tube brand and array give each amp subtle but noticeable nuances. Like I said...these are like a blank canvas and I thoroughly enjoy these builds. I know what they cost to build and 95% of the tubes are vintage but I really don't know what to ask for them. These are one off's and you will not see any others like these. Hydro dipping was expensive and they generally take about 4 - 6 hours total build time. My sons friends have all tried them out and a retired marine friend of mine played a couple local gigs a few months ago with the stars and stripes unit. I have since been inundated with requests for custom logos and configurations for different applications. Any help on pricing these units would be greatly appreciated. BTW...this site has been an immeasurable support group for tips and tricks. Thanks to all the craftsmen...one of which I am not.

Some nice-looking builds there! 🙂
I have two questions:
1) Are these guitar amps? You don't mention that, so I'm guessing from the type of speaker - which I can't make out because of question 2 coming up...
2) Could you upload some bigger pictures? These are tiny, less than two inches across even on my fairly large 27" computer screen. I can't see any details.
I'm not the person to help you estimate the value of these, but for someone to be able to help with that, they would need to know at least some basic technical specs: what sort of output power, what sort of speaker, what tubes are in it, and so on.

pics are hosted by photo bucket...thought they were hi res. Three of the amps are AO35 Hammond amps that I have added volume, presence, and simple tone stacks to. They are cathode coupled EL84 pp with ECC83 pre and split. They are generally clones of Dr Z Carmen Ghia's. One of the units is a 6V6 pp using two octal 6SJ7's for pre and 6SC7 for split. All use 5Y3 rectifiers. Not near as technically inclined as some members, can read schematics, use a scope and sig gen. My working knowledge of tube circuits is self taught and some of it is still "magic" stuff to me. As long as I have a schematic, measurements, and test gear...I have been pretty good at repairs and or mods. Will check the pics for you. Here is the link to the album: Photobucket
oh yeah they are guitar amps...I do not play but my son has been playing for over 30 years and has a large collection of amps and guitars. I have service many of his amps; tubed and ss. I started making these at his request for a compact combo unit that had a different sound from his other amps. He has auditioned everyone I have built and absolutely loves the sound from these. One of his favorites of all of his amps is the "little screamer" AO35.
Hi whatadish,
Please directly attach the picture to your post so that the link doesn't get broken in the future.

The pics in your post #1 are pretty small thumbnails. But the good news is that your direct link to your Photobucket album worked - those pics were bigger.pics are hosted by photo bucket...thought they were hi res.
Thanks for the pics, good luck with getting more replies!

If you right click on the pic and choose "view image" (or whatever your browser says) it will open in Photobucket and be bigger.2) Could you upload some bigger pictures? These are tiny, less than two inches across even on my fairly large 27" computer screen. I can't see any details
Thanks for the tip, that worked! If you right click on the pic...
