The Black Hole......

OK. I was wrong.

Yeah, you and Hans beat me to the punch* on saying it's essentially an overlay technique from video to get a still image. Pretty impressive tech to be smart enough to deal with movement, though. (lending to the blurriness) It's crazy what amateur astronomers have been able to do for planetary imaging using a similar technique, e.g., AutoStakkert! – AS! Stacking Software – Lucky Imaging with an Edge – Emil Kraaikamp – AS!2, AS!3

*to my defense, I was sleeping :D

Astronomers have a massive arsenal of image enhancement techniques. There are Fourier methods for image alignment and blur removal, focus and motion. All you need are LOTS of FOPS.

Good to hear, Zung. I read that about flushing, somewhere. By the way, since then (1978) we have had enough water to not ration too much. That was a strange year, unfortunately I remember little of it, but these days I don't party as much. '-) PS Karen will hardly speak to me these days. '-)

What impressed me here is that, for a number of the images you have stationary things (the spacecraft) and moving things (the humans). Previous applications I have seen have tended to focus on one thing (say a planet) that isn't changing from exposure to exposure even if its moving in the frame.

Isn't technology wonderful :)
You can even make pictures without a lens.
I made this picture with just a body cap on the camera with a tiny hole in the middle instead of a lens. A camera obscura so to say.
I could have sharpened the image considerably, had I taken more than just one picture

@ Zung: Thanks for the reply to my inquiry. And, yes, I'm aware of the military service requirement and that the weapons are kept at home.

WRT cleanliness, I'm always amazed at the attention to detail for sidewalks and streets, and well-maintained flowers everywhere.

My understanding is that bacteria is actually illegal in Switzerland. :)

Nice pic Hans. When I was in Japan, my (grown up) kids came to visit and we went to the Fuji Photographic Museum at Ebisu Garden Place where they bought these cardboard pin hole cameras that they assembled. A day or two later we went to the Iszu Peninsula and one of them took a photo on the beach with it at about 5 pm. It’s one of the most beautiful photographs I have seen. Soft, muted colors and a dream like quality to the image. My 14 MP DSLR pics liked crap next to it.
