I find the FB group almost impossible to navigate. It would only be a few days work to make a simple web page with all the designs and information about each design on it. Considering the amount of work put into the boxes it seems like a disservice not to do so.

Kipman ,

That is something that has been talked about and i think it is a great idea ... We should do exactly what you are suggesting at some point in the not-too-distant future once we have settled on somewhere between several to a dozen designs that are well refined .... We are almost there .... Some solid favorites are definitely emerging ... ....

Real talk!

Well if i have the time this weekend, it was in the planning anyway this month. I can do measurement comparison against xoc1 and other subs i have around here in the warehouse.

I did the type-C vs xoc1 late 2018 and that simple Type-c prototype build outperformed the xoc1 with the same driver, same voltage etc. So yeah Matthew is on to something and each year we seem to improve on the previous generation of prototypes and test designs. Although not all designs are making it.

The Paraflex TC2E-115 (i build 8 of them) did outstanding work on multiple festivals and events last year pumping out bass from 12:00 till 23:00 or from 21:00 till 08:00 in the morning at war levels. A very clean and tight bass performer with proven track record of at least 60 hours of play time without failure. They are also very capable of rear cancellation without going into cardioid setup.

Hello Matthew, given the great reception and popularity of your designs perhaps it's time to restructure and grow with the demand and intrest by creating a dedicated homepage for the designs, clean and simple to navigate along with specs, plans, descriptions, Q&A's and reviews from diy'ers for each design and then refer to the facebook page for discussions.

I agree. Exactly that! Present tested models on a webpage would help with order and tidiness. Now on FB, it's quite punk and mess, no idea what models are working and agreed as final, etc. I'm looking for smaller 18“ paraflex design version (C-2A golden? Is that the name?), and in the mess, I'm likely to miss its birth/release. For a skilled designer and programmer using WP, it is one day job to make the core of the page, and then someone else could admin the thing. I would be bappy to help (with basic HTML/CSS/JS/PHP/SQL skills and routine admin/content work.

I also think that you could go more business with this. Start up a membership program in 10-20$ yearly for extra and VIP material/data/support, license the design in similar way as Mogale, etc. You would keep up the excitement if some money flowed to you while not being pushy too much, and you would have more resources for testing stuff. Not sure if the beasty driver is suitable? Let the community vote and buy it for you.... Then do whatever you want with it - sell for some money recuperation, donate to members, etc..... I know, this would need a team, but people ARE excited to help.

Concerning my previous suggetion of a dedicated homepage, I was thinking more along the lines of easing the comunication load which can get quite intence, one of the most frequent questions concers driver compatabillity, so if one could for intance have ~10 recomended drivers listed per design along with a description of why they are recomended (certain t/s parameters etc.) togheter with note that for other drivers the diy'er is encouraged to simulate for him/her self or rewuest help in this thread or on fb this would take a hughe part of the comunication load away.

This is just one example, there are ofcourse more, one needs to consider that the potential diy'er knowledge level spans from teenage DJ wannabes or skilled musicians without a technical intrest all the way up to this forums more frequent contributors, and there should be room for all of them.

It should be said that some potential builders, thankfully very few, expect everything to be served to them on a silver plate, taking a free design for granted and complaining if not everything is easy and cheap, so the line needs to be drawn somewhere, and should be drawn respectfully and clearly.

Circlomanen: That's all jokes and fun, but I'm triggered with my ported bins. :D Do you suggest I would be better off raping people compared to owning a ported box? :zombie:
I'm still looking for different/higher order designs, but there seems to be nothing better in 220-240l box volume with good extension down to 35-30Hz.
Let me/help me get rid of it with some awesome compact design!

All approved designs on the HOQS FB page can be found there under the [Units] tab

All designs are a group effort with input from multiple people including: simulation, design, prototype building, testing, 3d design etc. There is a website (in progress) but the Group is still searching for site-admin, editors who can build info on the site.
