Many apparent medical authority figures in agreement with the point of view expressed
The fact that someone is a Nobel Laureate does not mean that he or she is correct about everything:

In his 1998 humorous autobiography, Mullis expressed disagreement with the scientific evidence supporting climate change and ozone depletion, the evidence that HIV causes AIDS, and asserted his belief in astrology.

On other issues they may have a point:
Mullis was quoted saying "the never-ending quest for more grants and staying with established dogmas" has hurt science. He believed that "science is being practiced by people who are dependent on being paid for what they are going to find out," not for what they actually produce.

Bottom line he is co-credited with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique,. Which is what is now used to identify virussus something Torsten denies is valid. How ironic.

I think the lack of real integrity, freedom to really think and discover in academia has been widely recognised as compromised for a long time.

Too much pursuit of the next research grant, too much early publishing of results before adequate peer group reviewing, and too much following of the traditional consensus which has almost become a dogma or religion.

This correlates with the tendency to become tested on vocational familiarity rather than radical analysis, training rather than intellectual ruthlessness.

He has quoted liberally from the book. Many apparent medical authority figures in agreement with the point of view expressed. It seems to have been a big seller for some time.

I just put it out here in case someone knew of a significant source refuting it.

The big elephant in the room is always that they assume that 100's of 1000's of people can conspire and NONE of them gives out the secret. Just like the moon landings supposedly are a Hollywood plot.
Look at reality - two people can keep a secret for more than a few days only if one of them is dead.
These stories immediately fall apart after 100ms of thinking. Or less.

But as Bas said, it's a great business model!

Just like I wish there would be a tv reality show about flat-earthers going on an expedition to find the edge of the world.

On September 20, 2019, Portuguese reality TV star Ferdinand Magellan set sail from Spain with a fleet of flat earthers known as the 'Armada de Molucca' in an effort to find a western sea route to the edge of the earth.

It's on Netflix. I wouldn't recommend it though, they just seem to be going around in circles.

Secrets can be kept, especially with commercially sensitive info on which income depends.

Not by 100's of 1000's of people.
Look at the regular unveiling of political scandals. 'Secret' deals between a couple of politicians or a politician and someone rich. A couple of people involved only, yet it always comes out. There's always someone with a grudge, someone talking carelessly after a couple of Scotch shots, someone on the take.
Now scale that up to 100,000 people. No chance in hell.

Politicians are IMO the dregs, but BMW denied and hid the production in '83 of a new motorcycle with a flat four cylinder engine, until the three cylinder 750 version was photographed on a circuit being tested some time later, and appeared in Motorcycle News.

They must have had many more employees than hundreds.

@ gazzagazza, if you take the time to read this thread from the beginning as you do for the book, you can see informations about that. It's not possible in the actual knowledge say Seanketzm the original poster who is virologist and researcher. I let ou the effort to look for the post yourself.

Genom of the virus sars2 - new coronvirus - covid19 is shared by all the scientists since 2 months and noone is saying it's a construct !

Slope of death rates.

I wanted to compare how different countries were doing in combating the spread of COVID-19. I didn't think that looking at infection rate would be valid because of different rates of testing and asymptomatic individuals. So I decided to look at death rates instead. This seems like a better method because countries that were performing poorly would have a higher death rate due to overwhelmed heath systems that would not be revealed if you were looking at infection rates. The drawback of looking at death rates is that you're looking into the past. The data generated would reflect how the country was doing 3 weeks previously.
So I looked at deaths rates logarithmically and selected the most flat region of the curve and determined the slope.
I've put in brackets the number of days used to determine slope.

USA (19) 40
Italy (16) 403
Spain (12) 242
S Korea (19) 4.1
UK (6) 53
Netherlands (7) 33
France (17) 64
Germany (10) 15

Some of the countries had lines that were curved downward (Italy & Spain) others were very straight. Of course the larger the number of deaths results in greater accuracy (larger sample size). Same can be said of the number in the brackets.

I think it's fair to say that the length of time the country has had to deal with the infection plays a part determining the value of the slope to a degree. Having said that though there are differences in how countries are coping...S Korea and the USA make for an interesting comparison.

If you are referring to the K100 that has been in production since 1982 and the 3 cylinder version, the K75, since 1985.

Neither use a flat engine but inline 4s and 3s respectively mounted longitudinally and canted over by 90deg. That was to keep the center of gravity low and enable the use of shaft drive.
There were no secrets about these.

Could someone point me to anything refuting the claims of Torsten Engelbrecht in his book Virus Mania. In it he claims HIV, Sars, HPV etc are all inventions of the medical industry to make money.

Sure... Scientists working for the "medical industry" invented lethal viruses that would then infect and kill themselves, their loved ones and family members just so they could make a buck. Makes plenty of sense to me!

I guess that would explain why they were able to keep the secret though. If anyone found out, they would've "cured" the scientists!:headshot:

S. Korea had a cluster of infections among members of a religious sect, as the SK economy was hit hard by SARs they knew what they were up against and acted quickly.

New York State will have performed 100,000 tests as of 4:00 pm this afternoon, and New York City results were clustered in Brooklyn and Queens, these two burbs about 3x the rate of infection in Manhattan.

Lastly, COSTCO is refusing to accept returns of toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizers, disinfectants etc!

My wife informs me that the Metopera may disband. They don't have the reserves to continue.

Makes sense. If you see where the aid package is going to, after the usual interests and their buddies have been served, there's nothing left for culture, education and jobless. The Emperor is naked.
Ohh, forgot, a kilobuck for every American to buy a future vote.

But Trump says it'll all be over by Easter!

Governor Cuomo of NY said that's when the State Board of Health expects the peak.

BTW why would people be returning loo roll?

One of the large grocery chains said that "stock-filling" for residential pantries will be over in a week if not sooner. There's simply not enough space even though the average US house is 2,600 square feet.
