IIRC there is at this point no test for antibodies available, still working on it.
There are several available that I've seen, but might not be regulatory approved in your country or available from a vendor in the country.
...some also talked of plaquenil type medics already here iir...
That is the French commercial name of Hydroxychloroquin.

I was thinking about the specifity of the tests that are available, as the current ones were reported as being quite (suprisingly) low in this regard.
I'm sure the approvement process will be shortend in the EU if new tests come up.
This guy explains why and how hydroxychloroquine might work:

It is quite interesting.
Just like to point out that South Korea used it extensively and it is now in short supply in Germany who so far managed to keep their death rate remarkably low.
Anecdotal evidence is not an indicator of efficacy.
When asked today whether there was any evidence to suggest hydroxychloroquine could be used as a prophylaxis against COVID-19, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases unequivocally said, "No."
Edited:
Collège des médecins du Québec has banned the use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of ambulatory Covid-19 patients effective immediately in Quebec Province.

That's not quite what it says. It says prescribing those drugs for non-chronic (i.e. CoVid-19) non-hospitalized patients is banned. It's actually suggestive that they DO work, but should only be for hospitalized patients.

Not surprising. As soon as Trump uttered it I knew there would be a run on it. I’d actually thought about trying to get some a month ago when the South Korean anecdotal evidence came out. I know a person who took it for RA.

Yes, it seems that maybe shady doctors and pharmacists have been hoarding it.

You didn't watch it did you?
It'll remain anecdotal until there are double blind tests and he does mention that but as good as leads to treatment are these days this is it. No time to peer-review papers and double blind tests but first do no harm.
And that is the stage at which they are: Making sure of no harm before trials proper commence.
However Germany published a list of drugs that are in low supply and hydroxychloroquin was one of them. One could speculate that for some reason they are using a lot of it...
reading few newspapers :
Hmm, after few searchs, the hype could come from this Biosense paper : https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/bst/advpub/0/advpub_2020.01047/_pdf/-char/en
3 chineses pharmacologists from a pharmacy institute tested it on 100 people for helping when pneumonia from cv-19 is too strong (people tht don't recover by themselves and developping dangerous lungs problems . So it would be not about profilaxys.
I think several human in vivo studies has been beginning in several countries with this medic: short time testing. Side effects could be dangerous too And it seems not to be so miraculous for every situation.
Notice the interessant input of Sean some pages before about immunity taking the lupus example -hydroxochloroquine being used in some lupus disease at the beginning of symptoms-
No conssual anywhere about that for the moment for a massive cv-19 treatment, more a toolbox plus when it comes to save lives in particular situations, each case & people asking individual evaluation by the doctor . Seems odd to me Germany didn't communicate with european countries if it was a real possible solution... Not talking about Italy which has also a very efficient medical system and tradition ! For the moment all is going faster and doctors and nurse are more than tired in the most european touched countries... artifical comas to try to save life about breathing diseases are not rare (lungs)...
I have no doubt if they know for an easy solution it will be known of all and immediately launched... plaquenil like type medi seem very cheap and not hard to do as some HIV antiviral treatment are for illustration.

He’s not going to say yes without data. Same with Remdesivir, except I’d much rather have plaquenil because we know the side effects are not serious in short term use for most people. Plaquenil has been used in millions of people with decent safety.

I will admit my French is very rusty, and I should have mentioned the ambulatory bit. (I fixed it)

Nothing too surprising: antibody tests are notorious for taking a long time to develop to get the right subclone. With as quick of turn around as they're trying, validation has to be limited. They will get better
On the news last night UK PM was trying to hint that an antibody test kit was almost ready to roll. Something that was rapidly backpedalled by the science advisor. But for those versed with the art how rapidly can these be made? Secondary question, do they help?

If you can believe it, the vendor that my company bought our SMD reflow oven (from China) emailed me 2 weeks ago offering to sell us COVID-19 antibody test kits from a diagnostic company called Hecin Scientific.
No idea if they are any good, and I'm pretty sure they would get taken by customs if found and the FDA would send an angry letter.
Found this in the Washington Post.
I think it's safe to say the few men that do survive will have a moral responsibility to repopulate the earth...
But the figures in Italy have been even more staggering. Nearly 60 percent of diagnoses have been in men, according to Italy’s top health research agency, Istituto Superiore di Sanità. Across the first 1,697 coronavirus deaths, 71 percent — 1,197 — were men. Just 29 percent, or 493, were women.
In a recent study published in the Lancet, meanwhile, the figures were even higher. It found that 80 percent of the deaths were in men and just 20 percent were in women.
