I am sure, if we went in and were to do a DBLT that we would not be able to detect the difference.
I fully agree

Why? The discussion was about neon bulb relaxation oscillators.
As you stated, you had no knowledge on them, yet you strawman the discussion.
The academic world really killed you, didn't it. Must have been difficult being forced to publish or perish.

What did he say that was incorrect on the topic? I didn't notice anything.
Some other things are extremely subtle and even require others to help you hear it... find it... what to listen for.... not as a suggestion, but as a guide to listening.
Kavi of water Lilly Records has such a good ear..... he sent me some tube modules from his equipment of the time.... he said there was a noise in it. I listend and could not hear anything but silence. he was very patient with me on the phone and taught me how to listen. He kept saying listen deeper. Listen deeper.
Finally, I know myself... I asked what does it sound like... that unwanted sound/noise you are talking about. What frequency or high or low freq... Give some clues. I didnt hear any noise.
Finally, he said low, constant tone. OH! I should try to hear hum freqs, maybe. Way way down there was a slight buzz from ripple.
yep, it was there and I could now detect it easily every time I listened to that gear with headphones.
If I just walked in and did a listen or a DBLt with it... I did/would not have heard anything different.
These things are very subtle and sometimes others can point out things you miss. Hang in there and you will learn to hear these subtle things also. And the buzz was not a "suggestion' which was not really there.
In this case, I did a before and after wideband S/n measurement and that unwanted buzz was so low level, it didnt change the S/N measurement. Today, I could have seen it with my FFT or network analyzer. But this was purely by listening.

Just in time for SARS-CoV-2 😉
No, this thread is worse. Is the world (this place) as sad as it seems?

Unfortunately, he pulls this thread down into the sewer.
I disagree - he's entertaining, and his maximum entertainment value isn't when he thinks he's being entertaining. Its when he's blissfully unaware of it.😀
While I agree, let's see if my grape leaves bear fruit..or if he even believes in my sincerity. My guess is..no. But the day is young.I disagree - he's entertaining, and his maximum entertainment value isn't when he thinks he's being entertaining. Its when he's blissfully unaware of it.😀

He talked about it with no supporting evidence, right?
wrong. he asked others to do the same changes/mods and listen. They agreed with him. Its that huge world wide group thing again; many different people in many countries, over many years.. all have same reaction to his circuits, upgrades, mods and changes.

I knew Suck was on the NIN Broken EP and was a sort of cover, but hadn't ever heard the original version.
Hi Richard, I just saw the movie: 'Ford vs Ferrari'. I strongly recommend it, because it shows what you and I are made of, rather than these other 'professionals'. They have no idea about auto performance as well as audio performance.
On Feb. 29, I am scheduled to go listen to my new JC-1+ amps coupled with some Wilson speakers that cost 10 times as much as the ones in my living room. I hope the combination works out well. We shall see.
For those in the LA area, it will be in Santa Monica at some hi fi store. You should come, maybe learn something about hi fi excellence.

The sober guy in the video is Trent Reznor, the wasted guy is my friend Kevin, of Skinny Puppy fame. He’s much more mellow today (and, probably unbelievable, so am I

I’m sick of programming this XMOS thing, time to sleep.

I will check it out... after all 50 years of Hi Po car upgrades to engine and chassis is my other passion. I miss my CTS-V :-(
I am sure your new design will be over-the-top wonderful and will drive any Z load. Will there be anyone in Bangkok/S.E.Asia distributing your Parasound amp?

Thanks,
Richard

What is wrong with LMDBLT?Don't you have something more productive to do in your life than to bite the postmen and the tires of the cars ?
It has been a while since I noticed that his criticisms were not due to objective technical reasons, but according to a system of personal antipathy that eludes me.
It is a pity that he does not put his knowledge at the service of more noble and more elegant causes and prefers to bark among the hyenas.
Disappointed, I stopped reading him. Courtesy comes first in my scale of values..
Who are you talking about, or is that a self-critique?

It is not because I want to defend Syn08, but I find it disgusting to be exposed to all the filth, deep below the belt, sprayed in his direction, far from being funny from people having vulnerable souls feeling offended.
This sort of postings does not serve to solve any technical issue, it is just and only to offend someone, quite pathetic.
