Hey guys! I'm new to the forum, but have a question about outdoor portable speakers. Since we have an older Epson 1080p projector I figure we'd go with the Epson ELPSP02 30 watt speakers, but would like something in the $80-100 range. Any suggestions?
15W a channel will be very faint outside, quite a lot more power is likely to be needed, depending on the scale of the audience area.
[ Though I see those have high efficiency, which will help considerably. They lack decent bass being small, and outside its hard to get enough bass without wall reflections anyway. ]

This should go to the Public Address forum

Those Epson speakers are just multimedia ( computer) for nearfield listening.

Since they are active ( the amplifier is incorporated) the efficiency data is meaningless. R U serious ?😱[ Though I see those have high efficiency, which will help considerably. They lack decent bass being small, and outside its hard to get enough bass without wall reflections anyway. ]
Thanks guys.
The audience will be relatively small, maybe 10-15 people on an outdoor patio. Is $100 too small of a budget for dual, outdoor speakers?
Sorry, really new to the audio aspect of this.
@picowallspeaker - I'll post questions like this in the /pa-systems moving forward.

No the efficiency data is perfectly useful here. 15W amp and 100dB@1W,1m speakers can go to 112dB@1m.Since they are active ( the amplifier is incorporated) the efficiency data is meaningless. R U serious ?😱
50W amp and 86dB@1W,1m would only go to 103dB@1m
The other thing the efficiency data tells is that the cones are thin and light, not the best for outdoor environment where humidity can be high and soften the cones.
