So when someone says 'better' then claims my DAC is rubbish because it cost less than $3000 its just a preference and I should take it as such? Nah I'm pretty sure everyone who says better who isn't Jakob really believes it is and we are cloth eared dolts not to believe them.

Life would be easier to stick to words that reinforce the personal preference? I prefer ribbon speakers, TT prefers horns. Nothing to get het up about there and we all stay happy.

As Bill mentions, none of the Vinyl lovers gives a damn about your objections against vinyl, so stop trying to convince us that this medium is no good.

And when, despite all this, you try to show us how inferior Vinyl is, you come with a faked image.
Either you don’t know what you are doing, or you try to mislead us deliberately.
I suspect it is the first.
I knew that by raising this question, I would have funny reactions from many of the service official objectivists in this forum.
These are suddenly defending a media from the past, with 40dB less in signal-to-noise ratio, a factor of 100 or even a thousand worse in terms of distortion, obvious problems of frequency linearity, resistance over time, noise, etc.
With attacks on the person which are their usual mode of operation.
The same ones who attack in J.C. in pack each time he comes to show his somewhat esoteric preference for this media.
Personally, I did not attack your preferences, but the fact that they contradict your usual arguments on the cold objectivity of measurements and comparative listening in double blind under the supervision of bailiffs. It's funny.

As far as I'm concerned, I already said what I thought about it: vinyls have a lot of charm, especially by what they leave open to the imagination, but that has nothing to do with fidelity.

billshurv, I was teasing you, you are not on my ignore list. But read again: "poor souls".
What is revealing, about the pack phenomenon, is that I had not named anyone: some ( yourself ?) have joined the club 🙂
I see no difference between preferring vinyls and the "sound" of some capacitances over another brand, current feedback, large band speakers etc.

When somebody says something sound "better", it just means he prefer its sound. When somebody says something measure better, it do not imply it sound better neither.
if we were talking about cooking, the verb 'sound' would be replaced by 'taste'. I preach for tolerance and respect for beliefs. With an exception, when beliefs are called superstitions by other different believers that call themselves "objectivists" and think that they are the guardians of an absolute truth.

Big difference, virtually everyone here (in this so called pack) admits to all the flaws of vinyl in fact we spent a lot of effort pointing them out and measuring them. No stories made up .
No stories neither, comparing measurements of, by example, electrolytic capacitances VS film or ceramic or tantalum. They do measure differently, what so surprising some feel they sound differently ?
Now, let say vinyls are Ford T. And DACs modern electric cars.
You can understand i'm more interested to find less expensive Teslas like, or improve Toyota's autonomy than to can put disc brakes on a Ford T.
I don't know if you are a 'digital' expert guy, but I know i'm not. Trying to find help in the forum in order to can improve mines with my low budget, I have not yet found real practical help on the forum. In the same time, pages and pages of discussions on the stylus wears or groove deformations ....

You guys never change your story, post some measurements of pathologicaly bad capacitors to sell $400 teflon caps vs COG or MKP for a few $.
"You guys" ?
I challenge you to find the least $ 400 cap or any Teflon ones in my home. Already I find this type of capacitors below too expensive and too fragile for my passive filters!
Those bad engineered wires that brake after two folds !

If I win the lottery, maybe I will take this one to pick up the girls at the bar?
They fit the wood of my cable lifters.

This said, the coffee looks cheap: white and very thin foam ;-)

That is what you inferred, we are not fools, all these word games are frankly very very boring now.
Especially when it comes from the one who keeps complaining about debate tricks.
Arguments put forth in debate style are always one-sided, its how debating works. Its how humans tend to speak when trying to convince others, not necessarily a window into how thinking evolved.
"All the more likely if the engineers are operating in debate mode rather than truth seeking mode."
