My boards didn’t have polarity marked for led, so followed the traces. Was glad I did, as I discovered that V- connection.

I'm usually dumber than LED itself .... can't remember what cathode is , looking through plastic

Almost a year to find a home and only a rental
Last February, I had these boards running but then found that the case was too narrow to fit them (the Aliexpress/Ebay Weilang Audio case from a few pages back) and never found a home for them. It's a sad sad story

In their place went my personal layout and etched F5 boards (but they got kicked out recently for Sissysit #2) and sat in a drawer for 11 cold months of hibernation until I decided to do something about all these unfinished projects.
Taking inspiration from Zen Mod's test bed but too lazy to cut some wood, I decided to take a started-but-never-really-finished case that held another set of F5 boards (until I fried one) made from ancient R-Theta group-buy heatsinks from a guy named Dennis Hui over 10 years ago

Anyway, it was 2 heatsinks bolted to 2 pieces of acrylic with PSU board mounted inside the front vertically. The transformer is supposed to get underslung on a cross piece of acrylic that I never got around to cutting so the transformer sat outside on the table. I built my F2 this way and will one day post pictures of that but it's fond memories from DIY days before the store and before UMS and factory made cases.

With a test mule in mind, I decided my goal would be a way to quickly test completed boards and listen to them before deciding whether or not to put it into a case because my wife says I ran out of space for more amps 😡🙄
Solution that presented itself after a few days - Frankenstein!

It's an F6 for now (F6 found a home but it's only a temporary rental for now) but an F6 nonetheless and now I have an easy and convenient place to test (and maybe blow up) some Cree devices in a few weeks ... then who knows what goes in after that but the important things are there - heatsinks, PSU and +/-24V. I even put in inrush limiters and a power switch. The transformer is an Antek 3218 and the cover keeps the transformer wrapping from getting too much handling as it doesn't seem to like getting picked up.

Wow, that turned out great!! The transformer kinda looks like a massive pot knob, which I really like imagining 😀

Matched pair or matched quad
In the never ending JFET conversation, I still have a question. If you get the LS series from the store, and the are currently sold out of the matched quad, the matches are only within the series (I think) J or K but there is not a mention of matching the J with the K like you would get in the quad. They are two separate line items. And, you can get them that way. Wouldn't they need to be matched across the compliment for best results. So it seems to me that ordering through the two separate lines is really not the solution. I need advice on this. I guess I just don't know what needs to be matched to what. Would be for the F6 and the BA-3. Obviously a beginner at this. Thanks.

for complementary buffer (F6) , or input complementary pair (BA3) , you really need complementary matched pair

Hi all, promised to report back. My second set of jfets arrived today after more than a month of waiting in agony. Well... my F6 is up and running!! It's too late here in NL to turn up volume to proper level (like to keep the neighbors happy). But what I hear I enjoy so much that I will be listening for a couple more hours!! Thanks Zen-Mod for your help and contribution in countless of posts I have read of you. Finally, huge thanks to Mister Pass for putting his wonderful work out here. Next up is the Korg B1 to replace my schiit saga 😀 oh and while dreaming, SonyVfet pt3...
